Sorry if this has been posted before but we went last night and about 1/2 the trams now have doors (new trams) We didn't get to ride it on the way in but lucked out when we left.

Here's a few pictures.

For those we may need help exiting, here's your sign!

We saw those in person on Friday and avoided them at all costs. With a little one, big bag, and stroller to manage, I didn't want to tackle those too. How was your experience with them?

We rode them all week - I found them to be fine. Easier to keep arms & legs etc in for the driver. I overheard lots of comments - both good & bad

They look nice but I could see where they would be a pain.

I miss the trams. Riding those from the parking lot as a child made it real that we were at Disneyland. pixiedust:

They seemed ok. When I opened the door to get in the first time I did the latch the wrong way (guess that's why they put the signs on)

As I exited I noticed a young boy holding the door for our row-here's a small problem I see-if noone holds the door as you exit, the door closes. This young boy was actually holding 2 doors. I can imagine with someone holding each door it may get a little crowded exiting. :crowded:

I'm actually surprised that the open trams have lasted so long in an era where most diving boards (remember those??) have disappeared from home pools due to insurance liability?

While I understand the safety precautions, I have images of trying to wrangle my stroller on and off the tram while being hit in the shins with the swinging door..ugh!! Not sure this was a great idea!!

Yes, doesn't sound fun to me either. That's why doors or no doors, we just walk from the parking structure if we have our stroller instead of trying to get everything on and off the tram.

I'm visiting DLR for first time this summer. How difficult and far is it to walk to parks from parking structure (assuming we're at Mickey and Friends) ?

TIA

It's not difficult at all. There are some signs up and you walk along a nice sidewalk/path that goes right to DTD. You do have to cross the street near the parking stucture but after that you follow the sidewalk to the path that takes you to DTD. I haven't timed it but it probably takes 10-15 minutes. Of course, it depends on where in the parking structure you're walking from too since it is huge.

Agreed! We often do the walk, it's much easier when you're lugging a stroller loaded down with kiddos and stuff. :)

I'd say it's about 10 minutes from the tram area of the parking structure to the parks doing the walk instead.
