Training- Interval timing?

This is a silly question, but is the 305 quite large on the wrist - it looks like it. I have very small wrists...what's the difference between the Garmin 205 and 305 and would the 205 fit better on my wrist?

They are the same case. The difference is internal to the case and the 205 does not have a heart rate function.

There is a velcro strap option that can be ordered for these units that will help with smaller and larger wrists.

Quick question for the Garmin pros out there.

I recently started playing with the interval setting on my 305. I set it up for 99 reps of 3/1, and everything works fine EXCEPT it appears that when I do this, I can't use the Training Buddy. When I run a half or full, I loved setting up the training buddy to my expeced pace, so I could always check to see if I was ahead of, or behind, my pace. I know I can look at my average pace, and determine if it is higher or lower than my goal, but I like knowing I was 200 yards ahead of my training buddy. Or if I saw I was 100 yards behind, I could almost pick him out of the crowd, and try to catch up to him. (For anyone who doesn't know what the Training Buddy is, this is going to sound stupid...sorry.)

Is it possible to set the 305 up with a training buddy, and get inverval beeping?

Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to do both intervals and training buddy. I use overall average pace to tell me if I'm ahead of behind my goal time. For example a 3 hour half marathon is a 13:45 pace. I normally buffer it a little bit and would shoot for a 13:40 pace to account for bad tangents. Like you said, it's something I wish it would do. I have some speedwork scheduled for my next half marathon where I'm supposed to do 800m repeats in a certain length of time. The training partner would be nice as you said to know how far ahead or behind I am.
