Has anyone ever taken the train into Orlando, then hailed a taxi to the resorts? My parents will most likely be doing this for the first time next fall, and I wondered if anyone had any advice/opinions about their experience. Thanks!

My sister did this years ago because she couldn't fly due to knee surgery at the time. I remember the train station in Orlando being convenient enough but I also remember it was a very long train trip because it stopped a zillion times along the way. I guess it would depend where your parents are traveling from. All in all, though, at the time it was better than driving because she was able to get up and move around.

The best bet is to contact a limo company ahead of time like Happy limo or one of the others that has a good track record and arrange pickup ahead of time. Lincoln town service can be had round trip from Amtak Oralndo to WDW (and back) for around $100. I think Mousesavers or other sites (maybe DIS) have discount codes for more savings.

We did this last September and teh company we hired provided free booster seats for the kids, and we got a surprise upgrade to a Mercedes S550 on our trip to the train station. What a fine ride that was :woohoo:
