Thinkin' about a visit to Trail's End. I haven't eaten there in many a year, but I remember the yummy comfort food. Guess that sounds appealing on a cold night in PA. :)

Can anyone tell me if they serve the mac & cheese at dinner, or only lunch?

How about desserts? Just the cobbler, or are there other desserts offered?

Are ADRs needed?

Thanks!

DS is a mac n cheese eater, but I don't recall if this was served at dinner. Probably was as it seems to be everywhere at DW - I would probably notice if it was missing!

I mostly remember the chicken being the best ever and how cool ds thinks it is to drink out of mason jars.

They do have other desserts besides the cobbler (cookies, rice crispy treats, ice cream & toppings, etc), but i think the cobbler is the best of the desserts.

ohhh and ADR's are suggested, like all TS restaurants...but I think it is easier to get an ADR and a walk up here. We love TE, don't know why it isn't more popular, probably the location.

when i went their sept 2008, they did had the mac and cheese for dinner, and more then one dessert:) some good food for a decent price:)

How is TE for breakfast? Thinking of a morning "hike" over from WL for a non-park day and then exploring FW and their activities for a bit.

Awesome, thanks! I'm not entirely sure of my schedule for some days yet, but it sounds like it might be a good possibility for a last minute ADR.

This is our 3rd visit to DW and I've been a DIS lurker for nearly 2 years :rotfl2:

This year we are looking for new places to eat at Trails End at FW was suggested - staying at ASMu - what would be your suggestions for transporting to FW?

Using Dis transport for first 5 days of 14 day visit but will have option of using car after 5th day.

There is most definately mac and cheese at dinner. My DS had a whole plate. Here's a pic. We were at TE on 12/12/09.

The advice I got on here was to take the bus to Magic Kingdom, then catch the boat to Fort Wilderness. We used this advice and it was spot on!

Thanks X and G's mom - yours is the first reply I've ever had on Dis boards :cool1:

Thanks for your advice

I love it! With the economy they have removed some of the items but everything I like is still there. I pile up on the Mickey Waffles, breakfast pizza, and these yummy bannana muffins :cloud9:

We stay at Fort Wilderness in our RV so we eat at TE a lot, we love it!

This is what we do. Works for us.

BTW, we like to plan dinner so that we have time to head over to see Chip n Dale and do the campfire & movie. Makes for a fun night!!

We just had dinner @ Trails End 1/11/10. We were walk ups at 4:30 when dinner started. We got right in not many people there at all.

We had Mac & Cheese and the apple crumb cobbler. The fried chicken was great. A lot of food for not a lot of money.

TE is on our "must try" list for the next trip. 40 trips to WDW and have never even set foot in FW.:earsboy:

The other Posters gave you great advice.:)All-Star Music-bus to Magic Kingdom-boat to Fort Wilderness-walk to Pioneer Hall

If you want to go to Trail's End Buffeteria from another Park besides Magic Kingdom, take a bus from that Park to Wilderness Lodge and take a boat from there to Fort Wilderness.:)
