Just wondering if it comes out of the same kitchen. The Hoop Dee Doo food gets high reviews. But there's not much review for the Trails End restaurant.
Please comment so I know whether to keep our ADR. Thanks!!!

We've never done Trail's End, but we know many people that have, and I believe they do come from the same kitchen. We LOVED HDDR when we did it in Jan!!!! We'd definitely do it again.

It has been several years since we've done HDDR. The food was ok. I felt it was over priced back then and I'm sure it is more now. However, I also realize it is a show and that is really what you are paying for. We totally loved the show and it was a lot of fun. The more in the middle of things you can be the more fun. We've been twice. We've sat down front and at one of the most back tables you could be at. Both were happen-so seatings.

Back to the food...I have no idea if they use the same kitchen. What I can tell you is that the Trail's End Buffet is one of our must do's. My family enjoys this buffet probably the most of all. I guess we just like basic food. Of course the dinner has more to offer than lunch and dinner is the one I prefer. This is a great value for a TS if you are paying OOP. If you are looking at the price and you have the DDP you might feel like you "aren't getting you're $$$'s worth." But I can tell you as far as food value you are getting a very good dinner and it was a lot better than several expensive TS's we tried.

My opinion, don't miss it if you like what you see on the menu!!!!!!

All I've ever heard is that they share a kitchen. That said, I would assume that the ribs and chicken are identical.

I've never eaten at Trail's End but have never heard anything negative about it for what it was.

We prefer this restaurant to any TS on property. The breakfast and dinner buffets are the best, don't know where the food comes from, guess it could be from the same kitchen, as for us the chicken and ribs are just like what's served at the HDDR, and that's worth the price too. To us most of the fancy TS restaurants are way over priced and food is mediocre at best, we never waste our money for the so called free dining but rather take our pick of all the CS on property. We normally stay at the WL and do alot of boating over to FW to Trails End for the buffets and Crocketts Tavern downstairs for the pizza.

I heard great reviews on it and plan to eat here during our stay. It seems the only place that serves fried chicken and the comfort foods that i really like. I saved this for our last meal in Disney.

Thanks for all the positive comments on Trails End. We really wanted to do HDDR but couldn't get ressies for the dates we wanted. The only date we could get conflicted with our Kona Cafe ADR (which I can't change as it's not available on any other dates either). So even though we don't get the show, we'll get the food...and we'll take a stroll thru Fort Wilderness, which is something we've never done before.
