In all my years going to Disney World, I've never given a moments thought to Trails End! Looking at the pricing, it looks like the cheapest sit down eats in all of Disney!

So how is it?? Is it worth the trip all the way out there??

Looking at the Disney World website it looks like they bring a skillet to your table now like Whispering Canyon, and its no longer an actual buffet - Is that right?

I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences, especially on the dinner. I don't think we would ever do the breakfast.

I can only speak for when it was buffet but we loved it. It was pretty standard fair, a more limited choice than other buffets but it was really freshly cooked and didn't taste like it had been out for too long like some of the buffets can. The service was great and the price amazing for a Disney sit down. We used to combine it with a carriage ride or the Chip n Dale camp fire sing-a-long

In our opinion, when Trail''s End was a buffet, it was the best kept secret on property. Throughout the years it was our official goodbye dinner on the last night.
After we moved to Florida Trail''s End was where we took family and friends as a novelty night out (along with a golf cart rental, looping and resort hopping).
I can't say what it's like now except that we won't return until the full buffet is back.
Service was always top notch and the buffet food was always great, especially for the price.

That is the magic question because it is no easy commute and why we don't go.

I know! I feel like its almost just for people staying there, because it is such a difficult location to get out to. Even if you have your own car, you probably would still have to take a bus within Ft. Wilderness, and with all the stops..... Oy

Take the 20 minute boat ride from MK and the dock is less than 75 yards from TE. All the years we went we used Disney transportation and it really wasn't a hardship. That being said, it's just a sit down now serving skillets like all the others so yeah, probably other restaurants serving the same stuff that's easier to get to.

I believe it originally was for the people who stay there because it is just as hard for them to get anywhere as it is for us to get there.

Yes, if you drive you will have to park at the outpost and then take a bus to the restaurant. When I stayed in the cabins I didn't even eat there because the bus system is a drag.

We've done HDDR via MK boat, and booked last show so a bus would take us direct from HDDR to our hotel. Not sure I'd do it any other way unless I booked a Minnie ride.

We like to go there on our non-park days. We loved it so much on our trip last year that we added another reservation and went twice. The food was very good, and plentiful. You can request extras, too. We feel that its a hidden gem, and a great bargain. If you're not crunched for time, it's worth a try! Park at the TTC and ride the boat over.
