the food is great at Trails"s End hands down.
Correction: the food at Trail's End used to be great. Take it from me - when Granny was whipping up the victuals years ago, you had more choices, and better quality. Granny has long since retired, and now they serve pre-cooked, warmed over crap. With the exception of the pizza (because you see them pull that out of the oven) I think food that is left over from the HDDR one night, is served on the buffet the next.
You have to trust me on this one, as I've been a somewhat regular Trail's End diner since the 70's. It's nowhere near as good as it used to be. It's nowhere near worth the $23/adult price they are charging.
Now, the Lone Rider or the Giddyup and Go chicken dinner - that's Good Eats, and not too far over the top as far as price is concerned.
Now that we've beaten this issue to a pulp - an off property place that you might want to visit is Texas de Brazil. Yes, it's pricey ($45/per adult), but not only is it delicious, it's an experience all in itself! 5259 International Drive Orlando, FL 32819-9476 (407) 355-0355

I asked why they did this and they said they like to switch things from time to time.
The food was fair at best and agree if you don't mind the ride head to kona. We went there Monday night and enjoyed it. Breakfast at 1900 Park fare was excellent also, our first time there.
