Has anyone tried the lunch buffet here ? pricewise it seems a bargain!
I thought it would be good to get the boat from MK to Fort Wilderness for a good lunch here. Sit down restaurants with 2 adults, a teen and 2 kids is just too pricey.

We just ate at Trail's End a couple of weeks ago-- did the same thing and took the boat from MK. The food was great and an excellent bargain! They had sandwiches (turkey and ham), mac n' cheese, the awesome fried chicken, pulled barbeque pork sandwiches, baked beans, a salad bar, a soup, yummy cornbread and biscuits, pudding, apple cobbler, and at least some other veggies and things I'm missing. Definitely an excellent lunch break away from the park!

I love Trail's End for lunch. We went last summer and loved it so much we went a second time. There is a nice variety.

I also loved the boat ride from the MK.

No, you dont's need a PS. We have lunched there several times and LOVED it::yes::

Very reasonably priced and the soups are excellent! They have a guy there who's job is to just makes the soups, the waitress was telling us. The boat ride from MK is lovely and do take time to walk over to the country store and the petting zoo. It made for a fun afternoon and my DS who is 15 even enjoyed himself!

Trails End is excellent, I can't stress enough how much you need to go over there and check it out. We've eaten there each time we stayed at Ft. Wilderness. You'll end up there on every vacation too!

Breakfast and dinner are awsome too. I think breakfast price is a little less than lunch and dinner a little more. All well worth it!!!!

I agree- we went over from MK at Christmas for lunch and it was wonderful!! Best bargain on site!! We'll definitely do it again! Jill

What time does the lunch buffet start? or, what time does the breakfast buffet end?
Want to work this into our plans somehow, and will either do a late breakfast or early lunch. Sounds like a place where all of the kids can get something they like, can have a relaxing boat ride, and get our second wind before hitting the parks again.
Anyone with times, etc., please post.
Thanks!

Trail's End was our big discovery last year. We rode the bus to get there and found out after how quick the boat was back to MK. The food is wonderful. When we got there the dining room was only about half full. Our waiter was excellent. Just a great lunch all around. We go every time now for one good lunch.

I notice that everyone is saying that they took the boat over from MK to get there. We are going to go to Trails End on a day that we are not going to go to any parks. Is going to the MK the best way to get there. You can get on the boats without going in the parks right? I don't think that we have ever been near where trails end is. Is it easy to get to? Does the boat bring you right there? I heard that they have a petting zoo and a movie at night. That is what we were planning on doing. Is this correct? Anything else fun there? We were planning on spending several hours there. Is this accurate? Thanks for your help.

Well, even if you aren't going to the MK it is a beautiful boat ride over there. From the boat landing it's only a short walk through a wooded area, right by Hooptie-Do Revue. However, you do have other and probably quicker options. You can drive over and park at the Ft. Wilderness Campground parking lot...where people used to park to go to River Country. Then it's just a quick bus ride through Ft. Wilderness. Your other option might be to park at the Wilderness Lodge and take a bus from there (pretty short also). Unfortunately, there is no way to park right by Trails End, even if you are a guest of Ft. Wilderness Campground. There is a petting zoo other there and some nice walking paths. The landscape is just wonderful, mostly very tall pines and natural. Sometimes in the day there are kiosks with jewelry and various crafty stuff they sell beside Trails End. There are also various activities at night, like movies, at Ft. Wilderness. Really there is pleanty to do over there and it's well worth any effort to get in there.

If you are planning to do the movie I think your best bet would be to drive over to Fort WIlderness. I don't know what time the boat runs on a night when the Magic Kingdom may close early. Any bus will get you to the Settlement where Trails End and the HDDR. If you are going to the movie you take an orange or a yellow bus to the Meadows and get to the movie/campfire there.
