This is a little off-topic, but I was wondering if anyone knows of somewhere relatively near Disney that offers RV (specifically 5th-wheel) storage? We're going in August and are looking at possibly going over Christmas and thought that we could store the trailer somewhere down there instead of pulling it back and forth? If anyone does know some places, would you also know offhand roughly how much it would be per month?

I don't know if this will work but, get on the Internet and look up Camping World. See if you can get the number for the Kissimmee, FL store. Call there and see if they can help. Good Luck.

there's storage places everywhere, use google to find one.

I have wondered about this before. We are coming down for Christmas this year and it would be nice to leave the trailer down there and retrieve it over Easter. It would save me about 7 or 8 mpg on the drive without it.

I went out on Google and there are several in Kissimmee, I saw one for $45.00 a month for outdoor storage. Depending on what you pay at home would it save more on gas.

We store ours at Greater Mini Storage in Clermont on US27. It has been there for 3 years now and we have never had a problem. The rate is somewhere around $68 per month, but I'm not positive, as we pay a year at a time. Their phone # is (352) 243-8090 ....... ask for Fred or Lindy.

Thanks for the info so far. I have not had time to Google as yet, but I will. At least I have some idea of cost.

What a good idea..I've wondered that myself. Certainly seems it would pay to store it there..as opposed to bringing it home..and then returning with it again. Especially if you also pay storage at home. Between the gas and storage it would make sense. Something to consider.

Something else I just thought of. I know that we had some trouble with those very small ants getting into our trailer last summer. My one worry if I stored my trailer for roughly 5 months in Florida would be what critters would have taken up residence inside when we return. Anyone have any thoughts on this - or solutions?

I don't know their prices but there is a self storage operation in Celebration and I've seena lot of boats and RV's stored there.

Combat makes a product you can use to put in cabinets that is self contained and works well. It's called Combat Quick Kill formula and has 6 child resistant "stations" in a box...I buy some each summer and one box usually works for about 6 months! So far this spring I haven't needed to use mine yet!

You right about ants, many years ago I lived in a community that had their own storage compound (no boats, campers etc. in neighborhood) and I got got carpenter ants in my camper and they ate up one wall. They are worse than termites, larger and faster. You need to ask if they spray for critters. I have noticed some in my area (Texas) do not as I see fire ants all the time.

My sister lived in a retirement mobile home community in Valrico, Florida and she always had problems with what they call Dry Termites, they dont come up from the ground they fly in.

We have used a facility on US27, three or four miles before Haines City, called A to Z Storage. The rates of all the stoargae facilities in the area have gone up drastically in the past year, due I think to local zoning regulations requirng people to find store their RVs away from their residences. We paid $100 a month last winter. We store our RV from mid-November to mid_February. Much cheaper even at those rates than driving back and forth and no need to winterize.

Mine is stored in Winter Garden. It's about a 20 minute drive coming in through the Western Way. They charge by the foot per month. My camper is 19' and it costs about $55 per month. Really nice place with security, blacktopped, and pest control. I don't mind the 1300 mile drive as much because I don't have to worry about towing and the problems that sometimes go with it. Now, if I could just find someone who would deliver it to Fort Wilderness for me....then I would fly down, be there in 3 hours, use Magical Express, AND have my home away from home!

Does anyone know of a place that will store and deliver to WDW?
My hubby wants to store our 19 foot trailer near WDW and have them deliver and pick up so that we can fly there and have no worries.
Thanks
Pat
