We are flying in on June 16, arriving at LAX at 1:30 and were hoping to go to DL on our arrival day. We booked everything before they announced the opening of Carsland so we can't change our dates. We will have a rental car and were planning to drive to DL each day (staying at the Embassy Suites). Do you think we would be able to find a parking spot later in the afternoon on Sat June 16th or would it be better to take a taxi that day?

Thanks!

I would guess that the parking lots will be busy - but I don't think they will be full... But you never know.. sounds like june 15 and the days after will be pretty crazy!! :b

But what Embassy Suites are you staying at? Most hotels/motels in Anaheim (near DLR) has a shuttel to DLR, that would have been my choice, instead of driving.

We will be there the June 20th and 21st. The crowds will still be huge then. I guess people will be camping out for Carsland. Hope it doesn't get too busy that they stop allowing people to enter. I read somewhere that the capacity of the two parks w/ cast members is 117,000. Can't imagine being there with that many people. They say it can happen w/ Carsland opening. I'm stressing out. This was the only time my husband could take his vacation so, we are going to California at the end of June.

I wouldn't worry about driving or parking on the 16th, though I would on the 15th.

On the 19th, 21st and 22nd are Grad Nites.

Coming from the Embassy Suites this may be a hassle. Last year the Toy Story lot was the parking location for the Grad Buses and closed to everyone else. This is a rather ideal parking location for anyone and the obvious choice for anyone coming from a Harbor hotel.

I'm not sure if the parking situation is repeating. On one hand the party groups are smaller and don't need as much parking space. On the other is was a good parking location being more remote from the parks.

If your hotel has a free shuttle, take the hotel shuttle.

Do NOT take the ART (Anaheim Resort Transit) busses under any circumstance that week, they will only frustrate you. Most of the time they say that they will stop running 30 minutes after Disneyland closes, but the last bus will really leave at 20 minutes after and if the last bus is full, they will NOT send another one for you.

If you can't drive and your hotel does not provide a free shuttle, I would recommend the OCTA busses.

If your hotel is within walking distance of the Toy Story parking lot, you can also walk into that lot and take the shuttle from there. Yes, these shuttles are run by ART, but because it is a Disney owned lot, they do not let them do the items mentioned above. In addition, these buses drop off the closest to the gates out of any of the shuttles (including the Mickey & Friends Tram).

Taxis are not very beneficial, as they can now only drop off and pickup at Downtown Disney. So unless you are planning on taking the monorail in, it can be quite a walk into the parks.

We've been there when the "last bus" was full, and they usually will loop another bus back in to pick up the extras. I have not experienced them not picking up anyone waiting at the bus stop at the end of the night.

We have been with family that took the ART busses and they have made it abundantly clear that they would NOT be sending another bus that night, under ANY circumstances.
