"traditional breakfast beverages" at buffets?

We have a late afternoon flight home but will not be going to the parks that day so we want a big mid- to late-morning breakfast buffet at a resort. This will be the only "breakfast" we do this trip. Staying at CBR & don't want to just do the food court. Currently have a ressie at 1900 Park Fare. Was looking at CM but they are booked up.

Every resort buffet describes its beverages differently. Some say just coffee & juice. Some say "traditional/non-alcoholic breakfast beverages". Look, MY traditional breakfast beverage is a Diet Coke. You drink your caffeine hot, fine. I like mine cold.

So which resort breakfast buffets inlcude soda in the price? Hot chocolate? Anything besides coffee & juice? Youngest member of the group is 18 yrs old; we are happy with either a character or non-character breakfast.

I can't imagine any problem ordering soda. I see people with soda at breakfast all the time.

The only time I would expect an extra charge would be if you ordered a Mimosa or Bloody Mary, etc.

Well soda is ALWAYS available! I used to drink soda and, like you, it was my breakfast beverage! As far as being included in the price? I don't remember about that. I want to say "yes" but you could check the menus.

Have fun!

That's the whole problem - the menus for the buffets don't specifically list soda as being included. I'm figuring that the ones that do specifically say "hot coffee/hot tea" means that's all you get. It's the ones that use language like "traditional breakfast beverages" or "non-specialty beverages" that are ........less than clear......at least, to me.

We went last Dec on DDP and had Coke/Diet Coke for Breakfast at Crystal Palace and Chef Mickeys. You don't want me to start my day without a nice big glass of Coke:lmao:

I'm pretty sure I had diet coke at all the buffets we have been to. I consider diet coke a breakfast staple. :goodvibes

I guarantee that I've ordered an ice tea (which most would classify with soda as a "soft drink") at every buffet breakfast at WDW. Never had an issue or additional charge.

I can't say for sure about breakfast at 1900 PF as we had dinner there but I had Coke for breakfast at CP, CM, Cape May and Tusker House and it was included on the DxDP. I even got juice too at Tusker House because DH insisted that I try it. So I don't think you'll have any problems getting your morning fix.

same here... coke is it... and i've been to almost every b'fast buffet on property (only one i think i've missed is trail's end) and have never had a problem getting a coke or an iced tea... there's also milk, chocolate milk, various juices, coffee, tea, etc... specialty drink to me would be a shake or a smoothie, and i have not seen those offered at b'fast (but that doesn't mean they're not)...

hope that helps :)

OH P.S. i have also never been denied more than one type of bev at a buffet... soda, iced tea, choc milk, coffee... all at the same meal... yeppers!

You can get pretty much anything other than alcohol or specialty drink with the buffet.

You also are not locked into single beverage, at 1900 Park Fare, I've gotten a glass of grapefruit juice, a cup of hot tea, and a cup of cofee all included in the price. DD has gotten a glass of Sprite and multiple refills of OJ.

Rest assured you can get soda at all buffets (and all Disney restaurants), including breakfast buffets. I used to be a confirmed soda addict (quit cold turkey 8-22-07!) so I know this for sure.

Depending on where you got the menus (I don't think the WDW site lists menus for buffets at all? /shrug), they were entered by users/developers/admin of the various sites. Most likely at different times and by different people as well. That would more than account for the variance.
