Hello all,

I am a vinylmation collector and I have a lot of duplicates and wanted to know what you fellow collectors do with the duplicates?

I know we can trade but obviously the parks are not doing as much and they removed the traders in front of D-Street. Any suggestions?

I have seen quite a few people try and trade them at the Epcot Pin trading location. This seems to be a hub for many folks to trade just about anything. Alternatively you could choose to sell them online. I have been getting some great vinyls on eBay lately.

Which series are you looking to trade/sell your doubles?

We have traded at the parks, on the Disney Cruise, at the Disney Store. I am hoping they still trade at the parks, DD loves to do that!

I just wish there was a designated spot or store (DStreet) to do this. That way Vinylmation fans can all gather at one "Disney Approved" place.

I really hope they get a great Park Starz 3 series in place soon. So far that has been my favorite series as a whole. All the other series have great pieces (2-3 each) but have some real losers in the lot. Trading makes it a bit easier to buy these series so you are allowed to trade for something even remotely better.

There are actually some great places to trade online with people. We've probably built about half our collection (1000+) trading online. Facebook has Groups like Vinylmation Exchange or Vinylmation Kingdom Trading.

I will have to look into those. Thanks!

Do you utilize any application or site to keep track of your collection?

Chasingvinylmation.com

It connects with facebook, but it helps me keep track of my collections, my wants, and my traders. Makes it really easy to connect with people. If you have an up to date profile, and I find you, I click 1:1 and it shows what you have to trade that I want, and what I have to trade that you want. It's a GREAT tool. And absolutely free.

They are trading less in the parks? How about the resorts? We tend to trade more at the resorts. Do you know if there's a list somewhere that shows all current trading spots?

A lot less. This is both good and bad. They narrowed it down to one box per park at WDW:
Magic Kingdom: Frontier Trading Past
EPCOT: Mouse Gears (Rumor of one at as well at Disney Traders)
Hollywood Studios: Villains in Vogue
Animal Kingdom: Island Mercantile

Downtown: Pin Traders & Dstreet

NO Resort trading (which made me sad)

Though there was a lot of "junk" in the boxes. This move kinda helped with that.

I wrote an article about that (after it first happened) here: vinylmationkingdom.com/2013/02/23/thinking-outside-the-blox-in-defense-of-the-single-box/

Trading still isn't great at the world, but they starting to produce lower runs (such as Beauty and the Beast), Fewer Open Windows... generally less "junk" the ends up in the outlets 5 for $10.

Is there much trading on the cruises? I am new to vinylmations (pins been doing awhile) and have some I could take to try it out.
