Trading Spouses- last nights show

Marguerite was from my home town, where I was born and raised. I forgot it was on last night and missed it. Can anyone post what happened with her? I don't know her, but I will have to call and ask my mom if she does.

She was placed with a new age family. Very nice and down to earth people if you ask me. She wasn't into the things they were but by no means was it evil. Astrology and hypnotherapy were their interests. No satan worshipping, no witchcraft though they did appear to be Wiccan. They had a star, just a star, on the side of the barn. She nearly had a stroke over it. She thought it was a pentacle. They had several lawn gargoyles which she was frightened by and held a solstice party with drums, no dancing nekkid around the fire or anything like that. She got mad about that too. When she did the radio show with the dad she seemed to be doing ok until a psychic who was a friend of his showed up unexpectedly then she blew gasket and walked out. The family otoh, treated her with respect, even when she was having her coniption fits and even held hands and prayed at dinner per her request. Also, for a woman who proclaims herself a godly warrior she sure did swear a lot!

I couldnt' beleive it when that blonde woman said that anyone who plays with tarot cards or anything like that was "of the devil". Geez.

I don't think they were "officially" Wiccan because the daughter said something at one point about witchcraft & how weren't doing it... then she added "not that there's anything wrong with it". And the Dad spoke several times about what they were doing & how it didn't contain anything that he thought should offend her. Also when the nasty ladies asked the Mom about faith & church she didn't mention it. I can't imagine her not stating she had some religion after being treated like that unless she really wasn't commited to a specific one.
It seemed to me that they just lean toward the 'natural earth' ideas.

Actually, that is exactly what Wiccan is, reverance for mother earth and the universe. Wiccans don't practice witchcraft they are two completely different things and that's what I was trying to say though it may not have come across this way. Wiccan practices actually aren't anything that should offend a christian at all. Many Wiccans actually do believe in god or a higher power. There's no reason she should have been offended by anything they practiced, whether it was Wiccan or not. The new age mother said she was afraid to say anything about her beliefs to the nasty women so it wasn't really stated exactly what they were though my best guess is Wiccan.

DH and I got into it during the show, my family is much like the MA family, and he becomes a bible thumping pain in my rear when he wants to tick me off. The "friends" of the psycho chick made me want to reach through the TV and slap them silly. I couldn't believe the hate that was oozing from those chicks.....yuck!

I do wonder what the whole vomitting episode was about. Think she really smelled something, or did she work herself into such a tizzy that she literally made herself sick?

IMO, I think she fancies herself as some sort of prophet for Christianity and that's what all her talk about feeling things etc... come from. Funny though, I clearly saw her reaching up and appearing to stick her fingers down her throat in the smell scene. When she was bent over the garden in the back, you can see the hand come up with two fingers out. It was from behind so can't say for sure, but that's how it appeared to me. The woman apparently wants to appear a vessel of God to the world. Um, she's a vessel alright, I just haven't figured of what yet!

As I stated before, this was the first time that we had watched this show. So, my husband being the man that he is, asked, "do they get to......(have relations) too???" When I told him no, he said it wasn't worth watching then. I said that they would have to move it to HBO or Skinemax if so, lol. Anyway, I also mentioned how the one husband would have hit the jackpot while the other poor guy....well, you know. And I don't mean just her appearance either, I mean all aspects.

All I can say is that it was almost unbelievable. My thirteen year old daughter caught a small clip of it and said, "Mom, what is wrong with that woman?" I promptly changed the channel!

That woman is NUTS, she was even freaking her kids & granddaughter out at the end. However, I think there is A LOT of editing in that show. You could tell just from watching it that there were frequent edits and I think they are making everyone look worse. The blonde was a total witch but I have a feeling ABC (or whatever channel it is on) tells them to give her a hard time and then edits it to make it look even worse. I also think ABC had the gay psychic come in. Doing a sex show wasn't enough to make her lose it so bring in the gay psychic!

I would love to hear their sides of it of what happened off tape. Did she overreact regardless, oh hell ya! I just think they were trying to make her look as crazy as possible.

See, did she really have a stroke about it? She asked about the star and just got a look on her face and then they cut to a ton of different shots of different shocked faces and cut in her saying "Oh my" and things like that. I think it was edited to make it seem like she was freaking out. I've never seen a show with so much blatant editing.

I didn't see the show. I think someone here said the show will be on this week, like a follow up- can anybody tell me when? or maybe post a reminder?

Just FYI, I am Unitarian Universalist also (partly why I'm hoping to catch the show, that and this woman's insanity, lol)- the main idea of UU is that members of the congregation aren't told what to believe, but are allowed and actually encouraged to gain meaning and insight from any and all sources- Wicca, Paganism, Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism, etc. That's why I love it.

Anyone else catch the Dh of the holy roller mom saying he had only one sexual partner in his life and he wasn't sure if that was good or not (I'm paraphrasing that, don't remember his exact words) Maybe he was hoping this swap included benefits too???
