Trading Spaces -- A MUST READ for all fans!

I just read the following in my TV Guide:

THEY'VE GOT IT NAILED
TRADING SPACES KEEPS BUILDING ON SUCCESS WITH NEW SPECIALS AND A SPIN-OFF

TLC has expansion plans for its home makeover hit Trading Spaces. First up is Trading Spaces $100 Grand, an October two-hour special in which contestants will spend $100,000 on room makeovers instead of the usual $1,000. "The idea is 'fantasy rooms' Trading Spaces," says TLC executive producer Kathy Davidov. "But [this special] is only the beginning."

Also in the works for next season is a Trading Spaces bloopers special and a behind-the-scenes show profiling the series' designers. Then there's the most ambitious Trading Spaces spin-off yet: A nine-part series targeted for March, tentatively titled "Trading Spaces: Home Free" will pit couples against each other for a $1 million home. Says Davidov, "We're looking for all sorts of ways to blow up the budget."


I can't wait for these shows. So, how do you suppose they chose the "lucky" teams for the $100,000 show? Who do you think the designers are/will be?? The sky will be the limit with that kind of budget!!! Also looking forward to the bloopers and designer profiles. Curious to see this "Home Free" show...

Those episodes sound like they will be fun to watch, but I wonder how many brown things Doug can buy with 100k?

Maybe Hildi can do do an entire house - inside walls, outside, roof, all furniture and clothes, etc - in pink, purple and white silk flowers? Remember that gorgeous bathroom she ruined by stapling those flowers on the wall?

Hilde will probably switch to fur on the walls and Laurie will probably fly to India to select her fabrics. I love these shows so I'll be looking forward to one concepts.
