Trading rules with CM at DRP

A couple of months ago I was in Disneyland Paris and wanted to trade with a CM.
He told me that half the pins on his lanyard were not for trade because they were his personal collection and the others were limited editions that he would only trade for other limited editions.

Is this not against the Disney pin etiquette for CMs?

I have had the same happen to me but in Disney world Orlando. I asked for a pin he had which had Donald duck on. The cm told me no as it was a special pin and i could not swap it (I was only 9 at the time)
