Trading RCI into DVC

Brian both were in the weeks side. I have seen a couple of OKW 3 BR on the points side. Still, I wouldn't count on it as you point out.

I should have investigated this more before I traded to RCI, I had a perfectly appropriate reservation at the Fountains which I gave up to trade based on the recommendation from BG that we were trading a "great week" that should get us what we wanted. So now I have paid the cancellation fee plus the transfer fee into RCI and probably won't benefit anything. I guess we live and learn. Thanks again.

They likely thought you were getting a good wee to trade. BG reps tend to have the idea that a gold crown resort or even Silver Crown during RCI red time will do as well as anything else. For II this may be true to a degree but often isn't for RCI due to the emphasis on the actual demand of the resort during that week. Also with BG, never let them do the deposit, always do it yourself. All may not be lost depending on how many points you paid for the deposit. You may be able to get an even better resort than the Fountains. List the DVC resorts, Hiltons, Bonnet Creek. You may even want to list the Fountains as a trade option. This is actually a valid move with BG, deposit something less points and try to trade into Orlando.

I'm curious as to what resort and week you deposited with BG.

Did I miss the boat, I have an ongoing search for a 2 bedroom DVC dates March 20 to Apr 4/09. I can see the DVC that is there, so I know trade power is not an issue. Anyone know time frame for deposits into RCI from DVC?? Hoping for AKL but will take any other DVC except SSR. (was there in August).

I think you've got some time. I've seen one ongoing match in in April at AKV, but most 2BRs have been earlier so far.

As far as anyone can tell, DVC in Weeks is all-or-nothing. At this point, it's just a matter of waiting until you're at the front of the line.

Can be deposited up to 11 months out. There have been March and April weeks. I have not seen any 2 BR during that time except a couple at OKW and SSR. If you're seeing the 126 or so resorts there currently, I'm sure you'll get something with an ongoing search. It's likely to be OKW if you have it listed in your request.

Let us know what happens. I had a search in for a 2 BR at the higher demand places for late March through early May but canceled it when I match Marriott's Crystal Shores for the same time frame with II.
