Trading Pins and the TSA screening process

Has anyone had their trading pins confiscated at the airport? I know people have said that they wear their lanyards with a few pins but what about bringing the entire pin books or a shoebox full of pins to trade on the plane with hundreds of pins?

It's been asked many times on the Transportation forum, and no one has ever reported a problem. Many people put them separate in their carryon bag or even out in a bin (not just loose, but lanyards in a zip top bag, etc) to help the agents not worry.

My daughter has her in her Disney pin trading purse. I hope that's ok like that on her carry on.
