Trading or Giving items

Last night I was trying to trade or give to my niece a teleporter. However, I never could get any box to open up to trade, and I couldn't find anyway to give it to her. I did see a notice earlier on about trading, flashed by real quick, so that may have been the problem. Someone in Astryd's room suggested going into another room. I will try that tonight as well.
Does anyone have any other hints? Also, can a regular member just give gifts to someone?

Known bug that first showed up (at least for me) on Saturday. It is intermittent -- happens in some locations but not others. Try switching locations, between different rooms or to the regular VMK street. Yavn is aware of it

Had the same problem trying to trade with my DH. Changed rooms, changed places to VMK town square, even changed characters could not trade with him no matter what. Next day everything was find cleared up its self. Hopefully this will happen to you and it will be OK.

I had this happen when trying to trade with a friend. Seemed like we couldn't trade in some private rooms.

Yes, you can give someone something without trading. A very nice DISer gave me a couple of things When you give her something, tell her to click accept.

Yes I had this the other night could not trade anywhere, then the next night had to go to a private room and the trade worked.

Just keep trying different locations and eventually it should work.

Thanks! I'll try again next time we're online again. If I want to just give my niece or nephew something without trading, do I just do it like the scam artists, set it up for a trade, give them the item I want to give them, but let them take down their item? I don't think I need anything they might have, might as well let them keep their stuff.

Whew! I thought it was me being, well, stupid! I felt very silly, I tried giving a prize to someone and I couldn't get it to work. I said I was sorry and there seemed to be a problem. I promsied to give her the prize if she stop by again. I wouldn't have believed me if I were her. She said it was alright but I felt terrible. At least now if I see her again, I can honestly say it's a bug in the software and try to give her her prize.

I finally got it to work yesterday, so I was able to give my niece her teleporter and my son I were able to trade teleporters. I set up a family teleporter room in one of my skull rooms, so the kids especially could all visit each other when I'm not online, or when one of the cousins are not online, but want to visit their rooms. Now just have to catch up with my nephew to give him his. Of course if my daughter wants to join....I'm beginning to feel like a room moderator....
