Trading into DVC from Interval International

OK - I guess I am going to be both calling AND checking online - LOL!

I can tell you that I would just about be on :cloud9: if I was to get into DVC for this Trip so any time spent on this will be worth it!

Thanks again for all the tips!
It's reasonable to do both. Timing, early morning, is more important though. An ongoing search will have the best chance of success regardless but you can't search for a larger unit which you can do with an instant search (online or by phone).

We have exchanged into DVC several times. We generally book our entire trip with our points, and then if we get an exchange... we cancel some of our nights made under our DVC account.

We do this because it is much cheaper than using DVC. A 7 night exchange into in a DVC 2BR costs us about $670... including the cost of our MFs, II exchange fees, and the $95 fee that DVC charges for incoming exchanges. This is generally cheaper than a 7 days stay using DVC points.

DW and I are heading to an OKW 1BR Sunday for 6 days using our DVC points... and then when the kids arrive next weekend, we will be moving into a 2BR that we got through an II exchange. This savings for this trip are not as good as most because it is the off season. OTOH... we did the same thing last summer for a 2BR BWV exchange... and the points were higher... hence we saved a lot.
