Yes, depending on what you
want and what you are
using to trade.
One bedrooms are pretty gettable, and I have seen posts from people over on TUG who trade into
DVC via RCI 4-5 times a year, at various resorts, with no difficulty.
Two bedrooms are more difficult, although we were able to get an OKW 2BR in mid-December 2013.
Obviously, the larger resorts -- SSR, OKW, AKV, BLT, BWV -- will have more availability. Larger resort, more owners, more owners exchanging OUT = more availability coming in.
Historically, my friend Dean estimates that 3-4% of DVC owners exchange out each year. However, recently the number of RCI resorts available to DVC members was expanded greatly, and that could make exchanges OUT more attractive because locations which were not available are now available to DVC owners. In the past, both with RCI and II, DVC members had relatively few resorts to choose from.
We traded in with Wyndham, which uses a fixed points grid like DVC does. If your timeshare uses TPU (trading power units), I have seen DVC availability from mid-high 20's to almost 60 depending on season. TPU is a constantly moving target.
The exchange forums on TUG (
www.tugbbs.com) are a much better place for info like you are seeking.
