My younger ds has a Nintendo ds. It has been in a nerf case with a screen protector so it is in excellent, almost new condition. No scratches, dents, etc. It is I think 2-3 years old.

If I bring it to Gamestop to trade it in how much would we get for it? Would we get money to bring somewhere else or would we need to trade in for a different ds there?

He has been begging for a 3-d DS and we his grandparents got him an ipod touch instead. I wanted to give him the choice of taking his original ds and his allowance and getting a 3-d ds for himself if he really still wants one.

They trade for credit. We got $50 for DSs PSP and $40 for his DSI. You can get more by selling privately but my time is worth money so we chose the GameStop route. It's so easy.

I don't know about trading in, but I got the 3DS for $105.73 yesterday at Target. Here's my post from another thread; sale is through Saturday. Maybe do this and get him a game with the trade in?

Target is running an equally good deal on the Nintendo 3DS. I had previously bought one for $139.65 with tax. Returned that one today and picked up another for $105.73 after all is said and done.

$169.99 price - 5% red card - $10 gc with $50 purchase - $5 off with $50 purchase Catalina. I spent $165.73 but got back $60 in gift cards, making it $105.73 with tax (about $99.99 retail). My son will be so happy!

And, that iPod touch deal is very close to the Black Friday one, which was a $40 gift card back. I honestly can't believe how cheap I got a Nintendo 3DS and iPod touch for this year...

on the 3ds? You used 3 coupons in one transaction? How? They clearly say one per person and transaction.

I used two coupons (one $10 gift card With $50 purchase coupon and one $5 off $50 purchase Catalina); the RedCard comes off automatically when you slide the card. I just handed them to her and she scanned away. Even with just the $10 gift card coupon, its still a good deal and the cheapest I've seen anywhere... Through Saturday, you get a $50 gift card with the purchase of the 3ds.

I think I ended up paying $131 for the iPod Touch on BF.

I hope you can get a good return on the trade-in.
