I am a DVC owner and a Florida resident. I would like to know if anyone knows how easy it is to trade DVC points for a Timeshare in England and if you have any suggestions?

Thanks,

kevin

I did it really easily. I just phoned up MS and asked for anything in the UK during our school holidays. They did a search and came up with something there and then. It was Devon staying in a villa with an ocean view.

You probably would need something more central if you are flying into either London or Manchester.

It was great for us because we had a vacation in our school holidays with very little travelling costs.

I do not think it compares well against Florida though.

Let us know how you get on.

You should find it easy to do but before you finally decide it might be worth considering renting out your DVC points for cash and simply making a cash booking in the UK. Good luck.

I wasn't sure if it would be more to buy it for a week with the exchange rate or trade points. What do you think?

It could vary on a case by case basis - I'm afraid you just have to do the math, depending on what/where/when. Anyone with II membership might be able to buy you a getaway for a relatively low cost (say £450 / $900) plus £25/$50 or so for a Guest Certificate. This $950 say cost would compare with the $1500 say you would get from renting out 150 points at $10 a point, rather than exchanging.

Thanks for the info. That helps alot. I have only visited Portsmouth, London and Bath, but never any of the other places in England. My wife would love the experience.

I really enjoyed my time there and want her to get to see Europe.

Take Care,

Kevin
