DH and I are going to WDW next month with friends and their teen-aged daughter. Our friends have APs, but their daughter has an old non-expiring ticket with several days left on it. The ticket was purchased before all guests had to go through the finger scanning process.

Will their daughter have to exchange the old ticket for a new one for the remaining days to use the finger scan? Or will she just be able to use it as is?

The difference is if it has a MAGNETIC STRIPE on the back.

If it does have one (and it has not been accidentally "erased") the ticket can be used directly and a new finger-scan will be "automatically" stored for it the first time she goes through the gate with it.

If it does NOT have a stripe (or the stripe has been damaged) the gate CM will direct you to the "Guest Services" window outside the park for a very guick replacement at no charge.

If you want to "check" this ticket before going to the park, you can do so at many WDW resort front desks (Guest Relations/Services/Concierge) or at Guest Services in DTD.

Robo is correct on all points. As Vincent Gambini once said, "Everything he said was 100% acurate."

Hey Will,

My thanks to you and to Vincent G for the high reading on the "acurate-O-meter".
:thumbsup2

All cash prizes and awards can be sent via UPS or FedEx.

If it does have the Mag Strip - the finger scan will be used from now on though.

Just a side note some friends of ours were just at WDW last week and they had days left on a ticket and had to upgrade it since their daughter was now 10. They checked at the counter at AK and the CM said there was 4 days left on the ticket, they went through the turnstiles and the CM there said there were no days left. They finally got it worked out getting the original CM and the AK park manager involved but it was an ordeal. Hope your friends don't have an issue. :)

It was possibly a really old ticket from before DAK which didn't have DAK coded onto it as one of it's "access points."

Thus both CM's in this situation were correct. It did have 4 days left on it, It just didn't have days availible for DAK.
