Has anyone stayed there ? If so, how did you like it ? It is rated a 4-star hotel would you agree. I got it off of Priceline and just wanted some info. Thanks

BTW- I have stayed at the sister resorts Sirata and Sandpiper just never the Island Grand and am wondering if there is a big difference between them.

We were there in Jan had a 2BR suite with ocean view that I booked with an Entertainment rate, 200.00. It was very nice. They have several pools that range from an adult pool on the ocean front to a shallow cover kids pool. Staff was nice rooms were clean. They do have a resort fee that gives you use of the Cabanas on the beach and paddle boats on "theIr" canal that my kids thought was a hoot! It was very relaxing and the best "beach" resort we have found so far for the money. There is a shuttle to the other properties as well. Please post what you thought compared to their sister properties, I am curious. I have seen this resort come up on priceline for 65-85 range depending on the season.

Do you mind sharing what you got the hotel for on priceline? We got the Sandpiper for $97 using the Entertainment card and just wondering how well I did. There will also be a resort fee of $12 to use all the extras but it is optional. From what I've heard the Island Grand is the nicer, fancier of the three but they are all very good. We picked the Sandpiper because it was the cheapest but you can still use all three hotels. Also wondering what you thought of the other properties.

on Priceline we got Island Grand for $65/night. We go to St. Pete Beach a couple of times a year since we live in Orlando and I always do priceline. I have always gotten one of the Tradewinds resorts. The Sandpiper is nice we got upgraded toa suite with kitchen and seperate living room which was nice. Most of the time though we have stayed at the Sirata Beach resort. The rooms here are in dire need of remodeling. The carpets are worn and sometimes dirty. They have a new building with central air and everything and those are really nice. We got moved there because our original room's ac wasn't working.

I would not pay more than $70 for any of these properties and that's just my opinion though. I have always been lucky in getting what I wanted to pay for though priceline. If you aren't familiar with the bidding process I would suggest you go to http://pub109.ezboard.com/fpricelineandexpediabiddingfrm93 and read the *** about bidding you can also get a general idea of what everyone is getting these resorts for.

Hope this helps,
Naomi

Mar, when I booked our suite a regualr rooom at the trade Winds with an Ent. Rate was 105.00. It might be worth the price difference. Just an FYI. I don't do priceline because I like to be able to change plans at the last minute but if your dates are rock solid I would consider priceline. The new link for the same board mentioned is www.biddingfortravel.com. Be sure that you read all the FAQ before posting on those boards they are very much "down to business."

Disorbust-
The price I was quoted for our trip is for a jr suite(2 beds, pullout, kitchen). I thought this price was O.K. since I am also afraid to do priceline .With four kids things can change.
