Trader Sams, The Cove...birthday

Does Trader Sams do anything special for birthday celebrations? What about The Cove? Can ressies be made for The Cove? Every time I go, the wait is 2 hrs at least. I've never been able to get in.

I do not believe they do anything special for birthdays.
Also, neither take reservations because they are both bars technically, and not table service/character meals.

As Girimama33 said, both the Cove and Trader Sam's are lounges/bars, so they are walk-up only. You're best bet is to go at an off-time.

In terms of birthdays, unless you're willing to purchase a cake, none of the Disney-locations will be guaranteed to do anything. They may do something (like a birthday cupcake), but it's up to the server, the restaurant's policies, how busy they are, etc.

At Trader Sam's, your server will announce your birthday to everyone - will even include your name and age! That's all they did for me last week except my age as I told the server I was almost as old as DL!

It will be full of families waiting for their Ariel's table. If you don't have anyone under 21 in your group you could sit at the bar. They only have 1-2 servers at any time, so if you wanted to sit at table and eat around noon, arrive a little bit earlier to account for the time it takes to place an order and get food.

Thanks! I must be blind -- we've eaten at Ariel's Grotto so many times but I've never even noticed The Cove! Where exactly is it relative to the Grotto? I'm very familiar with the check-in lobby, staircase down to the main level, the photo with Ariel area, restrooms, dining room, outdoor dining area... What have I missed?!

How busy is Trader Sam's late on a Saturday night? I assume busy but I'll be in town for the Expo in August, and the girlfriend and I were hoping to grab a drink there after the park closes at midnight.

I figured that out. I can't believe how many times we've walked right by there and haven't noticed or stopped. Hope it works this time!
