Trader Sam's reservations opening before 6am

Yesterday (7/2) I was preparing to make reservations when the clock turned to 6am - and discovered, at 5:56, that Trader Sam's was already taking reservations for 8/31 (while other restaurants' availability did not appear until 6am). At that stage of the game, only reservations after 9pm were available. Today, I happened to wake up at 5am so grabbed my phone and took a look - and again, Trader Sam's availability for 9/1 had already opened - I was able to score a 4:30 reservation, but many times for that day were already booked up. No idea if this will continue (or maybe this is normal and everyone already knew this but me!), but I thought I'd pass this info along in case it helps others!

ETA per below, we are booked at DLH this trip, and it seems that may be affecting availability???

Are you staying at a Disney hotel? This happened to us when we had a on-property hotel but not for our next trip, when we are off-property.

Oooh, interesting - yes, we are booked at the DLH, whereas our last few trips we've stayed on Harbor.

This is also our experience. We got a reservation for 8/14 at 4:30 am. My husband just happened to wake up and thought he would check.

We are also staying on property.

Sorry to hear your husband apparently has the same sleeping issues I do, but glad it's got this benefit!!! (This should be shared as an on-site perk!)

We are staying at GCH and I kept checking and didn’t see any reservations open before 6am. I did manage to get a Trader Sam’s reservation, but that was at 6am when all the reservations opened up.

Sounds like it may only open early for DLH guests and not all hotels. I was wondering if that may be the case. My window opens Sunday but I’m staying at PP so we’ll see.

I'm staying at GCH not DLH. Sometimes I think there is just no rhyme or reason.

I don’t think it’s only for resort guests. My family stayed at a Good Neighbor hotel in May and booked our Trader Sams reservations at 5:30 AM PST (while all other reservations became available at 6:00 AM PST) each day.

My current theory: one of the fail over servers or databases is not using the correct timezone.

PDT vs EDT thus if that is the sever that serves your request you can see times at 3AM

Today I checked at 6:58am edt and 9/6 was enabled. I was able to get an ADR for 4 at 3:05. There were other times listed but greyed out. Then I tried to get another for my sister using her account but 9/6 wasn’t enabled until 9:00 edt. By then there was no availability. We are staying at the same good neighbor hotel so that’s not a factor.

Was online beginning at 5:43 but 9/6 was not an option to search. It showed up around 5:51 but no times available. Finally saw times at 6:03 but everything was greyed out except for 2:50 so I grabbed it. Really wanted something a little later, actually really wanted 9/5 but couldn’t get anything yesterday.

It was interesting that 9/6 opened for TS only but didn’t have any times. Then several minutes later times pop up but we’re gone in an instant. I checked other restaurants and none let me search for the 6th until 6am.

I was able to get a reservation at 5:37am eastern for 9/7 today. Logged out then into my sister’s account and 9/7 wasn’t open. Kept checking until 9am when it finally opened and there’s no availability. Tried refreshing until 9:10 but no luck. So same experience as yesterday.

I have been up early for months trying to “practice” getting a reservation & never seen the date open before 6am PST (in fact usually almost a minute AFTER 6am), and the evening slots are always already gone as soon as the day becomes available. This is so beyond frustrating for me (as is that stupid Ahoy Skipper pop up you have you close every time you refresh the page 😡). Due to having a child with special needs, we aren’t flexible enough to just plan on walking up. The only way we’ll be able to go is at a pre-planned time. 🤦🏼‍♀️😭🤯 I wish I knew the secret to seeing these days open up early!!

It will not show earlier than 6 am until you are 60 days from check-in at Disneyland hotel. Once you’re in your window it’ll open early.
At least it did for me
