Trader Sam's Grog Grotto

Has anybody been lately? How crowded did you find it? What drink did you like? Is the food good? Did you have to get there before 4:00? I am thinking about taking hubby there for a surprise! Any suggestions welcomed! Thanks!

My husband and I went on June 27 at about 5-5:30pm. The place was pretty empty inside (I didn't look outside) and we found a table easily. I got the Pearl drink and that was pretty good, it had rum chatta in it and it automatically comes in a souvenir glass. My husband got the rum flight, he likes rum. An no he's not a pirate!

To eat we got the battered Portuguese sausages and the pork tacos. We enjoyed both. We thought we'd be disappointed in the food because we like the menu at Disneyland's Trader Sams so much but it was enjoyable snack.

Last time I went in March there was no place inside so we sat outside with the kids. It was really nice out there with a live musician and fireplaces everywhere. I had the fuzzy pineapple which is dole whip with spiced rum. It was soooo delicious and definitely pack a punch. My husband had a regular gin tonic but regretted it after tasting mine.
