I would like to go into Trader Sams for one drink, a few appeitizers and to see the atmosphere. I will have my kids with me. Is is a "family type" bar and grill (like Applebee's) or is it a strictly adults only type of place? This maybe a silly question but I didn't go into the place the last time I was there because I had my kids with me.

Its fine as long as you go before 8:00 PM.

There are no kids allowed after 8:00 PM - this is relatively new, we found out the hard way last trip - went over there only to find out we couldn't stay.

I was not amused.

It is pretty small - and seating is at little tables with bar stools or at the bar. We took our kids but ended up sitting outside, which was fine but we missed out on the "atmosphere" of inside

Thanks for the information. I might try it for an afternoon snack.

We just did afternoon cocktails and appetizers twice last week. The kids were amused the first time...not so much the second time. They really enjoyed the "show" when a drink was ordered (they couldn't figure out how it was raining inside). My biggest surprise was how small the place is....I know there's plenty of outdoor seating...but the inside is where all the charm exists. Have a great time!

Thanks for the info on this. I had been wondering the same thing myself. We are 4 adults and one 5yo (vaca starts Wed. - yay!) and we REALLY want to check it out. Guess we better go late afternoon/early evening.

Trader Sam and his many wives are very good friends with me. I met them while on safari upon a jungle cruise. Sam has a good sense of humor, and never ignores his friends. Just make sure not to ignore him, while he is talking to you, for he is the leader of a head hunting village. And might feel as if you are not being respectful of him. There was an odd sort of fellow that was with our excursion party, that kept on bothering Sam with his inane comments and questions. Well, after lunch, which by the way was a very delicious stew, with bits of meat that I had never tasted before, that I am aware of anyway, this odd little fellow was no where to be found. So we went out looking for him, never did find him, then we were informed of his whereabouts. So we knew not to expect him to return with us, but I must say that he did make for a very fine stew. So whatever you do, always pay attention to Sam when he is addressing you. And do not ask too many questions that annoy him, otherwise, pass the salt and pepper please.
Now when it comes to children, he (Sam) just loves them to Reece's pieces! Matter of fact, he and his many wives have in total 18 children. Ranging in ages from 2 months to 25 years of age. Now that is a lot of mouths to feed, yes, but then there are many a tourista that come a calling to his fine village. Which is good, for it assists with the local economy, for the most part anyway. Another good reason for so many visitors, is that it is easier to feed not only all of his children, but the rest of the natives as well. This special stew is served every so often. So one might wish to inquire as to what the special ingredient is. Believe me, I know. Anyway, people of all ages are welcomed with open arms at Trader Sam's. So enjoy! And say howdy to my fine friend. TIA

This is awesome.

We're Adventurers Club castaways, so we were quite pleased with Trader Sam's. It seems like one of the best additions to Disneyland Resort in a while--we actually ended up spending a couple of evenings there during our trip.

As two twenty-somethings, we rather liked the no kids after 8pm policy. Wish more places at Walt Disney World would institute a similar policy.

I agree.. and might I suggest that at Disneyland this policy be instituted. Ah.. only adults to run amok with joy and wild abandon after 8 p.m. I very much likee this idea to bits.... :goodvibes

:hippie: Peace out man...
