OK, well I've read all of the posts about this stuff but of couse not the specifics I need.:) I spoke to a CM about trading in my leftover days from my 7 day PHP (I have one day & one plus still left) They said yes I can do this & it will not affect the activation of my AP since I will activate my AP when I get down to WDW & do the whole transaction. My question is-- has anyone done this? And what is the trade in value on a one day, one plus left on a 7 day park hopper plus pass bought at the Disney Club member rate?(was purchased in Feb of 2002) Thanks to anyone who can even understand any of this mumbo jumbo I just wrote :)

You have to go to Guest Relations at any of the parks to do this. They take your park hopper and swipe it thru the computer which tells them what is left for days and how much to credit toward the AP. I never had plusses, but I heard that they don't credit for a cash amount so you basically lose that. You might just want to use up the plus on the PHP so you don't lose it!! :smooth:

You will get a dollar credit of 1/7 of the original purchase price you paid for that pass. As the other poster said, you will lose the unused plus option since Disney does not give them any dollar value for upgrading.

Let me see if I have this straight.......
I have an unused 5 day hopper that I purchased 3 years ago. It was purchased at a cast member's discount. If I wanted to exchange it for an annual pass.......They will give me a credit of the amount I paid 3 years ago??? Correct??
Not the amount a 5 day hopper would cost today, right?

I am trying to figure out if it is cheaper to just use the hoppers or get AP for next year.

I may save the hopper for a year when we won't be going for more than a week.:)

Right. Your credit is based on what you paid for it, not what a new one sells for today.

Another thing to keep in mind: if you were a CM then and aren't now, you will lose the entire value of the discount you got on the old pass when you upgrade today.

In other words, you will not get a new AP at the cast member price now just because you trade in a pass that had the CM discount back then.

Ok I understand all that- but I don't quite get one part-- Since I did buy the 7 day park hopper plus- you're saying I'll loose the plus- so here are my 2 questions-- What will the value of trade in be, because 1/7 othe price I paid will include the pass as a PLUS pass- so is it different for a park hopper plus? Also, can I trade in the value of my one day left but take he pass back with my one plus still on there, or do I have to use the plus BEFORE I trade it in? Thanks again or ll of your help!:D

to buy an AP. since you have used the pluses you will have to trade in on a PAP, I think that's the one that includes the water park. I believe it is only if the pluses have not been used that you can trade it in for an AP. Also if you trade it in within 7 calendar days of when you first used it, even if you have used 5 of the 7 days, but no pluses, you will get the full value of what you paid.
Hope this helps

Not quite. The deal with using any plus options and being made to upgrade to a PAP only comes into play when you upgrade within 7 days of first use and have used at least one plus. After the first 7 days, you can use as many or as few of the plusses as you wish and still use the pass to upgrade to a regular AP.

No it isn't. PHP's carry zero dollar value on the plus options when upgrading. You only get dollar credit for any remaining unused major park days. Your pass will get 1/7th of your purchase price as a credit.

No you can't. It's either "use it or lose it" before you trade it in.
