Trade in Pal Mickey?

The new Mickey can't be updated at a store. As he enters a park that "update" is really only telling him which park he has entered and then the signals thru that park tells him what he needs to say from what he was already preprogramed to say. Old Pals can not say what the new one does like singing or about Soarin'. By the way the HCOE Singing is just too cute!!!! I love that and wish I could get him to do it when I want him to but he only does on his terms They both play games and do tell some same jokes.

So... the old ones..even if updated with the chip zapping gizmo to the nose.. won't sing or do some things the new ones do?

No, the old ones won't sing they were not programmed to. Whatever is in their little memories is all that is there.

Only the HCOE sings (one in tux).

I had my old one down in Oct2005 and he would giggle and tell me the things he was programmed to so he still was receiving the signals telling him he was outside Test Track but he doesn't know he is outside Soarin' (I believe there is a sensor by Soarin' but can't 100% say just using it as an example).

If DH travels again soon I will probably make him carry the old and actually since neither works at Disneyland my older one is traveling with me for photo ops Then in January my HCOE will once again fly to WDW with me

Regardless of which you have, enjoy! I have both still with their batteries on and enjoy hearing their little silly jokes on bad work days, they both still bring smiles when it counts Gotta love that

They are VERY easy to find the "minute you get there".

I have both, and I really like the original Pal Mickey the best!! The new one chimes in with trivia games and sing alongs, which is great for the kids, but I would rather hear facts about the parks or rides with short waits.

I have shelved my "new" Pal Mickey and the "old" original goes with me every time!

But that's just my opinion!
