I wish!! We just returned from using the DDP for the first time and it was way too much dessert for us. A lot of places let us get fresh fruit in place of dessert, so just ask what your options are.

On the basic dining plan at table service, no, not under any circumstances. As was posted above, you can ask for fruit or a substitute dessert, but you can't get an appetizer instead.
