The recent threads regarding Castaway Cay have piqued my interest. I want to compile, as complete as possible, statistics for how often the ships are able (or unable) to dock at the island. To do this, I'll need your help. Please send me a PM with your sailing date(s) and whether or not you were able to dock. I'll collate the results and post them back to the board.

Please include, if possible, the actual sailing date, rather than just the month/year, so I can avoid duplication.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Have you thought about contacting DCL directly and asking them for statistics on dockings at Castaway? Like out of 365 cruises how many could NOT dock at Castaway. I'm not sure if they will give you the information you want but it might be worth a try.
Good Luck!

I actually have a friend who works for the cruise line, and he didn't know (or wouldn't tell me...).

Besides, it's more fun this way.

I cruised mid to early Nov 2001 (Eastern) and we were able to dock. I cruised again January 24th 2003, (Eastern) and we were able to dock again!

2 for 2 with another less than a month away!!

What a super idea! You might want to have a more descriptive title so that people read it and can contribute, though. I found it by accident. :)

bumping back to the first page.

Thanks to all who have responded so far!

So far, we have:

Wonder: 13-16 (81%)

Magic: 22-23 (96%)

Overall: 45-49 (92%)

It's still early, so if you haven't sent me your results, please do.

A few question while I build my spreadsheet:

-When was the Magic's first drydock? I seem to recall it was Dec. 2000

-Does anyone know the inaugural dates for each ship?

-When the Magic did 3- and 4-day trips, did it always leave on Mondays and Fridays?

Thanks for all who have participated (and those who are going to).

Hi, Great idea. Here are my stats. Western 9/28/02 Docked at Casaway Cay TWICE, once on 9/29, then again on 10/4.
Western 10/11/03 docked at Castaway Cay on 10/1703.

I would say that it is always unpredictable as it is determined by the weather. Since most people enjoy days at sea, you really can't lose. Last summer was my first time with a port with inclement weather. CC wasn't that great at all that day. I really don't think it would have been that bad if we had just sailed instead. The only thing I would have missed was the shopping at She Sells! We took a long bike ride which was fun but overall it was by far our worst port. Previously, it was my favorite (konk koolers!!!!! whhhhhopppppiiiieeeee). So have a great trip, you just never know where you will see the Magic!!!!!!!!!!

May 11, 2002 Magic, No problem docking at CC

Put it here instead of a PM to keep on Page 1.

Will be interesting to see the results.

We docked at CC on 10/22/03, no problem.

Wonder
April 2001 (easter week don't remember the exact date) docked no problem

Magic
December 2001 ( week with the 12th in it) docked no problem
December 2002 (week with the 12th in it) docked no problem

We docked all six trips and had great weather each time (sound of knocking on wood).
