Tracfone problems

with my old phone had double minutes for life - when I brought a new phone thru them - asked about the double minutes going to the new phone - they say not a problem - would still have it.

now they are trying to back out.

am surpose to call them in 24 hours for their answer.

this is enough to really get me mad.

before brought the new phone asked specific if the double minutes went with it - since it was a transfer - got a definitely 'YES' not a maybe. So brought the new phone (which is a pain by the way my old phone was much better).

now they are trying to back out.

didn't think tracfone worked like that.

anyone else had this happen to them?

when the guy started to ask about the old phone could tell he didn't expect me to still have the information.

well guess what there has been several times when almost called them to go back to the old phone.

anyway - as asked - anyone else have this problem?
 
This is the one downside to Tracfones, nit-wit, overseas customer service who are ill-trained. Call back at a different time. You may have to speak to several CSRs. ask to speak to a Supervisor. Tell them you UPGRADED to a new phone and they were supposed to transfer the minutes & plan & phone number. You were supposed to get the same plan because you upgraded the phone.

BTW, if for some reason, they still don't do it, I have seen double minutes for life cards or simply double minute cards & promotions. Depending on how much you like your new phone, it might be worth searching around for. You don't have to add minutes only when the phone runs out, you can add them any time, like when a promo comes.
 
At least one family member has been with tracfone since they first started up and over the years, we have added and changed phones and they have always been extremely helpful and willing to work with me ie: my original phones were so old that they could not transfer the old phone number to a newer phone but they still credited all my minutes. I agree with the previous post. I think you should just call and speak to a different person and do ask for the supervisor if you still are not having any luck. They do not want to lose your business!!! Good luck!!
 
Not a single problem with them - and much to my delight, they work in many, many areas where the more popular phone plans don't..:thumbsup2

now that I agree with completely.

you are probably correct need to call back today not tonight - or at least tomorrow - when hopefully someone who understand and speaks English will be on the other end.

the thing that really makes me mad - is when I first changed phones brought more minutes then and they did DOUBLE.

one reason for the new phone - was my old phone was acting very strange or should I say the number.

it was dailing people knew first - so lots of sorry!!!

then it start dailing people I didn't know at all - this to me was :scared1: scarey.

oh it didn't tell me - these people call me back and wanted to know why I had call them.... when hadn't the phone was either on my desk or in my fanny pack.

since mother is in a nursing home, need the phone to stay on, so they can call me.

I bought a new one because my old one just wasnt staying charged and was 3 years old.

I had a ton of trouble activating it and i spent more then 30 hours on the phone with customer service, mostly on hold

after talking to supervisor after supervisor, i finally demanded to talk to someone , who had been to the united states, or better yet was born there :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

i finally was given another number for customer service located in the united states, manned by people who spoke........... yes ENGLISH

i dont have that number with me at work , but i can pm it to you when i get home

I bought a trac phone years ago and I could not get it to work at all. I told them it did not work and they gave me my money back. I finally went with sprint.
 
I've always read that double minutes for life cannot be transferred. Once the card is put on a certain phone, it is phone specific. If you buy a phone and it already has the double minutes, it is also not transferrable.

That being said, this does not excuse the ignorance of the customer service. They lied to you and told you they could tranfer the double minute option. This could be different, since as you say, your phone was acting funny.

I've read the same thing. It's awful that they gave you bad info. I hope they will take that into consideration.
