DVC California - my phone takes a while to turn on too - I have to hold the power key for what seems like quite a while :)

Trixie - weird, it didn't extend my time! Lucky you! :)

I've never been able to figure Tracfone out. On our other phone (Nokia) one time we were able to enter a bonus code with a 100-min code and got extra minutes. Other times it didn't work.

This is the first time I've ever had a 1-year card. But with our other phone, you can only have a 120-day Maximum of time. So for a new phone, once you reach the maximum length of time, additional PINs don't extend the time. (I used to wait 60 days before adding additional cards, so to get the full 60 days).

When I added my time the screen read:

"...Add airtime before your due date and your remaining minutes and service days will carryover and be added to your phone, to a maximun of 120 days with any combination of regular airtime cards or 730 days with any combination of annual plan cards..."

Just bought a flip phone and wondering if someone would be kind enough to send me a referral please??? :teeth:

The extra 100 minute code is not put in when you buy the phone.

You wait until you are entering your one-year card and then put the code in the little "promotional code" box at the bottom of the screen.

Here's my timeline of getting this phone deal:

1) Wed, Mar 8 ~ Referral email sent to me (Thanks Trixiezzz!!! )
2) Wed, Mar 8 ~ Ordered phone using referral link.
3) Mon, Mar 13 ~ Rec'd PHONE via FedEx (wasn't home to sign, so I picked up from FedEx office)
4) Tue, Mar 14~ Activated phone online, got phone number, phone works! Shows I have 370 units.
(Seems to take along time to "boot up and log on"...is that normal?)
5) Tue, Mar 14 ~ Went back to 'Step 3' on referral email and entered phone # to get my free 100 minutes.
6) Still waiting ~ For my 100 free mins to come.

All in all I'm pretty happy. This phone is going to DD who just turned 12 last week. She's happy too! :)

I received an email Friday with the code for the extra 100 minutes of airtime. Plugged it in online and we are now sitting on 470 minutes. :cheer2:

can someone send me a referral for tracphone im new posting and boards wont let me post my email address. maybe a link in a pm?

thanx so much
laurie

There's another code that came on a little bonus card with my v170 phone. It says "With the addition of a 1 year prepaid wireless service card get 100 free minutes"

Bonus Code: 57892

This could be used in place of the original code (but both can't be used together). :sunny:

Just realized we get text messaging for free for incoming messages. :thumbsup2

Don't know about outgoing text messaging.

Outgoing are .3 each.

It looks like the number of minutes on this deal has gone to 370, so I went back and changed my original post.

I think you may still be able to use the bonus code when you enter your one-year card. I think this because my new phone came with that code written on the receipt. It's worth a try!

Can someone PM me a tracfone referral?

Thanks!!

Hi would like to ask a Tracfone question about having a tracfone and refering spouse and getting new phone and transfering minutes. Has anyone done that? Also would like to get in and differnent area so I can get 1 unit charge everywhere even roaming? Thanks for any help. Carol

I am sure you could refer your spouse, but I would think you would need to use a different e-mail address.
As for the roaming question, I'm not sure about that.

Thanks yes he had his own computer and email, do you think I could transfer my units on my phone to his phone and also keep number or just transfer and use his new number? I tried to look on their site but could not get an answer
