Tracfone ___ called today

In my area, I was able to find feature phones that would only do calls and texts. Maybe it just varies by region?

Possible - there are two different families of Tracfones -- the ones with model numbers ending in "C" operate exclusively on the Verizon network and are commonly sold in the Great Plains states.

All models with "C" in the number are normally on T-Mobile/AT&T networks, and are sold everywhere else in the U.S.

Ting is another option. You can bring any Sprint phone to it, or buy one of theirs (used or new, Ds' was $38). Then under "device settings" I have the option to turn on/off any/all voice, text, data. Right now, due to poor grades and behavior, his phone is set to only make calls out.

The "internet" that Tracfone's most entry-level ($15) phones offer wouldn't qualify for internet as you and I know it. If you fear someone going online with the phone, I wouldn't worry about it.

Now texting? That's another animal, and it's something most everyone does, to some degree...

I bought the $15 tracfone. We may think it's not 'internet' but you keep hitting the button (accidentally) and there go all the minutes.... all used up!

guess it's there by 'design'. sigh.
