Sat 25th
Today we decided to go to Animal Kingdom so after the customary park-day light breakfast in the Villa we headed off up the 27 and onto the 192. I decided wed try the Sherberth Road shortcut (even though Id forgotten to print off the directions!) Cant believe how easy it was and how much time we saved from that day on - We were there just after 9am.
First stop was supposed to be the Safari but we had a minor diversion to see Lilo & Stitch (these people will not stick to a schedule lol !!).
The Safari was only a 10 minute wait (short wait times seemed to be the norm this visit) mam & dad were really impressed with this.
Next we took the train to Rafikis Planet Watch something wed not done before. What can I say ? Apart from the girls enjoyed it
! After consulting the show guide we decided (once again) to grab an early lunch before heading over to see Tarzan Rocks ! Flame Tree BBQ was the chosen venue today my choice !!
Annabelle then decided to go to sleep so we put Tarzan on hold and Steve & Dad went to see Its Tough To Be A Bug whilst Rachelle had her first experience of pin trading. Now Id bought a lot of pins on Ebay and in the sales in The Disney Store at home to start her off and she saw a CM with a green lanyard and took a fancy to a Jessie pin. The CM traded with her and then gave her the original pin back to celebrate her first trade one happy little girl :jump:
Off to Tarzan via the Dino ride. Now for pin trading encounter number 2 Rachelle spotted another pin she liked so the trade was duly done only this time the CM didnt give her the pin back (I had explained to her how it worked- honest!). Another little girl then approached the CM and showed an interest in Rachelles pin. Next thing I knew there were floods of tears and we had to make an emergency rescue mission to 'retrade' the pins !!
Everyone enjoyed the Tarzan show (after the tears had subsided
we had great seats in the front row of the second tier, although one of the monkeys did make Annabelle jump when he scratched her head when she wasnt looking lol ! It was past 2pm by now (where does the time go?) and some people were getting a bit hot and tired (although mam did say she found AK the most bearable because of the shade from the trees and the atomising fans everywhere)
We decided wed call it a day in AK and head back for a rest then go back out to catch the late SpectroMagic show at MK as wed missed it on Wednesday. Another visit to Publix on the way back (there are 3 enroute !!) for provisions for dinner (ie read more beer & wine !!) and back for a swim.
We managed to get everyone back out for 7ish, much to my surprise and caught most of the first Spectro from Main St admitted not a very good view. We were then herded through a side gate around the back of Main St to Tomorrowland came out by the Carrousel of Progress which we decided to do. We came out just before Wishes was about to start (wed seen it from the boat but hadnt heard the narration). Unfortunately we couldnt get out of Tomorrowland there a huge bottleneck of people standing waiting to see Tinkerbell at the bridge to the Castle hub but there was no clear view of the fireworks because of the buildings. Ah well, at least we saw Tink
then moved back so that we could see some of the high level fireworks. Still couldnt hear the narration very well though there must only be certain areas that the sound is piped through to ??
We thought wed stake out a place for Spectro then as the park seemed quite busy but by the time wed got as far as Frontierland the place seemed deserted ! We sat on a wall by the Liberty Tree Tavern with the pushchairs parked at the rope but there was no need it was literally single file viewing all along where we were. I went off to buy some drinks and churros (the girls and me- love them) and before we knew it it was time. Now Spectro always does something to me, the first few bars of music and I cant help but smile and start singing along it just makes it even more special when youve got children to share it with. Especially when Annabelles favourite- Snow White came over and said hello and Sleeping Beauty blew them a kiss. The girls got a lot of attention from a lot of the characters as the crowds were very light and there werent that many other children around.
We went home tired and happy that evening but that was OK cos tomorrows a rest day
