TR on the go

i agree the live TR is awesome. really appreciated and loving the tally. i think it's the little and the big things that happen to us on a trip that really make all those memories and set the tone for the trip.

my sister and i had giant fights in each airport along the way during our trip. not something i put in my TR but it certainly created a lasting memory, and by the end of the trip we were like 'well, we're in an airport, have any other unresolved issues you want to fight about?' lol. it's a running joke now. now i look back at it fondly, but at the time it really made it a 'omg, what is it now???' kind of mood.

hoping your dramas are over and it's sunshine and smooth sailing from now on :)

im in! I think its so cool you're hanging out with other families! :) cant wait to hear more :)

Sorry that your DS (and RobRainer's) got stuck on the slide. I hope that he's gotten over the experience now.

Which witch are you referring to with the wench in the picture?? Surely NOT YOU!!!

And that's some tally you're keeping. How about adding number of rides you've gone on....just for a balance? :rotfl:

Day 3 - Sept 12

Late start today. DS has Aspergers Syndrome and kept waking in the night reliving the slide drama. I explained to him that the pump just stopped working like what happens to the washing machine or the water that gets stuck in a hose. Every ride we now go on I get asked "Does this ride have a pump?"

We arrived at MK around lunch time stopping by Tortuga Tavern for a bite to eat. The food was surprising ok but the service terrible. We waited about 20 mins for my taco salad to arrive. For dinner we had an ADR at Crystal Palace where we were joined by Robynrainer and her family. Chef Mickey's take note, this is the way to run a character meal.

We rode all our favorite rides particularly Splash Mountain and POTC. DH tells people that he bought me on the POTC ride at the wench auction. He says he keeps going back on the ride in the hope he can return me and get his money back. Fat chance of that ever happening. Secretly, I think he was hoping for a wench but ended up with a witch.

It was dark by the time we made our way to Fantasyland. I deliberately avoided the new Dumbo area, wanting to see it for the first time in the light of day although I believe it is spectacular at night. We'll get another couple of chances next week.

We stayed until the end of the night, seeing both the Electrical Parade and fireworks. The Magic, the Memories and You finished up about 2 weeks ago. We knew this coming in to the trip but still missed it just the same. We then battled the bus queues, making it home around 11.30pm.

Whilst there were no more dramas today DS did lose his sun hat. Tally is:

Dramas 2
Lost Property 2

Couldn't agree more re chef mickeys .....yuk .... Crystal palace and 1900 park fare were far more appealing for a character meal. It's been almost a year to the day since we were there and I still have the ringing in my ears from all that noise at chef mickeys.

Glad you are enjoying despite the slide stopping.. We got stuck on splash mountain for an hour at one of the MNSSHP nights last year and 2 of our kids didn't want to go on it at DL just a few weeks ago!

The poor boys getting stuck. I would've freaked out too. Thats sad to hear MM&Y has finished. I thought it was awesome.

Thanks for keeping us updated. It is hard to keep up while you're on holidays. The days are so full and you get so tired by the end of the day so I appreciate hearing about your adventure. :thumbsup2

thanks for sharing the trip report with us so far. 14 days. wow so lucky

Fantastic, entertaining reading, I'm looking forward to more.
The slide incident must have been scary, I can't believe that you didn't get an apology.
I hope that your drama/lost property tally doesn't grow any more!

Hi Minnimum:wave2:

I will be coming along for the ride too! Sounds like you all are having a great time minus the slide incident and the Blackberry. My DH lost his glasses last trip on the way to Disneyland. We back tracked, asked in all the motels along the way and checked with lost property on the day but to no avail. However, checking in with lost property the next day, some kind soul had handed them in. We were so so lucky as he can't read without them being prescription. Heres hoping a kind soul too hands in your DH's Blackberry:thumbsup2

So pleased to hear about Virgin. We are flying with them for the first time next month and I am glad to hear good reports!

Looking forward to more!

Really enjoying the report so far! I'm sorry about DHs Blackberry, very upsetting to lose your favourite gadgets :(

Loving the live updates :thumbsup2 shame some Disney CM are dumbos and don't even notice when a situation requires an apology :(

Can't wait to read your reaction to the new Dumbo area :goodvibes

Maybe it's been a long hot summer but the cm's at dlr seemed to have used up all their pixie dust when we were there.

Fancy not even asking if you are OK?! :confused3:

I was a bit miffed at the time but now look back and think the lifeguards job is to keep their eyes on the pool, particularly at the bottom of the 3 slides. Kind thoughts.

I remember reading this in your TR. Seeing as it happened during MNSSHP are you sure it wasn't just another scare attraction!

You said they didn't want to go on SM at DL but did they in the end?

Just to say I found my pendant today  hope the Blackberry turns up for you!!

Yay for finding your opal pendant!

We're not holding out much hope for the blackberry as the automated response from Delta's lost luggage says something along the lines of "we'll contact you should we find it".

A big thank you to everyone for your kind words and encouragement. I'd better get a wriggle on as I'm a few days behind. We've been enjoying the parks too much.

They quickly overcame their fear when we moved into that area of the park. I am sure it had nothing to do with it being 35.0c!

Would have been more scary for the cm's if we had been in that @&$&&& log any longer ( if you get my drift)!
