ooooohhh, Jordan, I gotta' take a pic of MY binder for you!! I am sad to not have a Flat Winkers BUT I may lose her with all the other stuff we are bringing!!! Cannot lose Winkers!! And i AM the type to lose stuff, misplace it, whatever......

Disneymom14-I am looking forward to seeing your shirts-I am bummed b/c the pillowcases I mad ethe kids seemed to have faded a LOT after washing. I am washing the Mickey shirts right now and nervous about them. I used fabric paint, but I sprayed it and put a little water in it so it would spray easier. We'll see......:rolleyes1

Watching Snow White right now- another classic tomorrow!!

Lori

Hey, we go to Disney with a GKTW bag too! I had the pleasure of touring the village a few years ago and was so amazed by how magical it is. I've also made friends with another DISer who was there in July for her son's Wish trip and am even more impressed than I already was. Another board I'm on has an Orlando member who will pick up GKTW donations at the Disney resorts and drop them off for those (like us) who can't always get there ourselves to visit.

I'm excited to read your trip report! Loving all of the homeschool projects. We're homeschoolers too (well, my DD isn't quite 5 so we don't do much official, but you know what I mean).

You're almost to single digits!! Happy travels!

Hi Lori! I followed you over from Jordans PTR. Sorry to read about about your DD's lukemia but so glad to read that she is going on 5 years!! I've enjoyed reading your report so far and can't wait to read your TR later. :thumbsup2

Thanks ya'll!!

We have been soooo bummed lately with my BIL's death, but my DH is doing okay. He's been a little short tempered-I cry, he gets short tempered-whatever!!;) He's not mean, just can't handle much more at this point. We still haven't gotten the van checked out. It had everything done to it a couple month ago, and we will drop it off Tuesday morning before the funeral to have all its fluids chaged out and checked.

That is how I started homeschooling-in pre-k!! Enjoy it, it is a wonderful experience!

Going to GKTW-cannot wait to visit this time!! Hopin' to get a stone this time(you know, the kind you donate for and they put your name on. I thought about it at WDW, but GKTW has much more meaning and value to us. Besides, as DD10 says, we have stock in Disney-"I own a tomato in the garden at Mickey's house"-!!! Well, maybe an ear!!

Lori

Snickers!! I like it & it goes with baby #1. By the way, very cute shirt!!! Just want to say again that I'm sorry for your family's loss. I hope you can leave all the sadness behind for a little while and hope that you can have a wonderfully great time celebrating life!!!!:grouphug:

Am I supposed to just make this my trip report??

Okay , I guess that is what I'll do!

Changin' the title!!

okay, upcoming ... 12 days of vacation bliss for our family. I will go by the days. We drove the 9.5 hours to WDW in 2 days to make it chillin' and relaxin'. Used DH's hotel points for hotel rooms on either side of our 9 nights at Pop Century in WDW, so those were free!! I think we topped out at $3500 which was what our budget allowed and no more! This included the whole 12 days, meals, souvies, tickets, gas, etc, etc... everything. We usually had stayed in an under $2500 budget and stayed 4 to 6 nights, but since we wanted this one to be longer, we saved for longer!! We also booked a good bit more as far as meals go and did the P&PP and the Petty Ride along experience(WOW!). This was for 3 adults and 1 child. Yeah, DD10 was considered an adult and prices reflected it! They kept bringing her adult menus and she wanted the kids menu for what she called "normal" food. So we had to ask for it everywhere we went.

Day 1 coming soon!!

Lori

Hey Lori
I am very excited to read your trip report. I need to start mine too. We got back Sunday night. I will be subscribing to your trip report. I guess I will just do like you and write my trip report on the same link as my pretrip report. I was wondering what to do too.:surfweb:

I will be checking in on yours too!! Thanks!

Lori

I am going to make these as condensed as I can-I tend to THINK I have forgotten all until something triggers it in my head-then I can ramble!! I will try to keep the rambling to a minimum;) . I am such a !!!:rotfl:

Day 1-according to my binder, somewhat according to my head!!

Got up Thursday morning after a whirlwind Wednesday of cleaning and last minute packing. DH's brother had been buried Tuesday and our bible study had doused us with some of the yummiest dishes that we brought(most of it) to MIL's. Dinner at church(how convenient) Wednesday night so no dishes to do!!
Thursday morning we got up and left about 10am. We needed to sleep in a bit after the horrendous week before. Drove to Mobile to visit the USS Alabama
disney2008023.jpg

-had lunch made up and ate it in thier parking lot before heading in.
We learned a LOT that day as we explored the ship and submarine. We visited B-52 plane like my dad used to work on and fly in when he was in the USAF-way back when!!

Then we left there 3 hours later and headed to our first destination of Tallahassee, Fla! My brother and SIL left Baton Rouge about 5pm this night after work and headed to Talahassee also. They got in about 1am. The time changes about 30-45 minutes before hitting Talahassee, so it was 2am:rolleyes: .
The next morning we were meetring at 10 am at er Barrell for breakfast.

Not gonna' show to many(if any) photos of DN3 as her daddy is a juvenile detective and works for the FBI finding online predators. He thought I was crazy for the potential meeting of any Dis'ers I have 'spoken' to and with on here. I can see his point clearly but as I had plans to meet in a public well lit popular place for a short "hello" I did not feel threatened. I was looking forward to it and my family was coming along. Plus we have been "talking' for a year now-we all have families and didn't want to take much time from our family vacations. More on that later...

USS Alabama-$36
"ride" at USS Alabama-$19
gas-$76
drinks from a gas station-$6 (stuff we did not have with us(coffees and chocolate milks)
McD's that night to add to our brought hot pot pasta meals!!-$7.51

Budget for day 1(not incl gas)=$76
Spent=$68.51

Lori

Hi Lori! My first day back on the Dis and wanted to say hi. Glad you're starting your TR. I hope to start mine today. Can't wait to hear more.:)

did you read the feb thread?? I saw your room multiple times we were on the other side of your building on the 3rd floor. I loved your window!!

Lori

our PC is having issues and i may need to download my pics onto this laptop-ugghhh.... continuing on... no pics this time...

I drove out from Cracker Barrell in Talahassee. Heading to DISNEY-finally-YAY!!!!! This seemed to be the longest stretch. We were well rested and ready to get there. We had ADR's for the 8pm Spirit of Aloha dinner show at the Poly. It was FUNNY that me and DB pulled our driving directions off of mapquest-I put mine from my home to MK and he did it from his home to WDW. Our directions were totally differnet and both were a different way than DH and our family had done before. We ended up at MK alright-BEHIND it-by Laqke Buena Vista Construction company-with it's graphic of Mickey Mouse!! I remembered it from the marathon b/c we walked back there! DB ended up on a dead end road with a view of Disney hollywood studios-Tower of Terror!! we kept calling each other wondering where we were b/c we weren't together any more. Like I said, he is a cop, he drove faster than us-we always just get caught:laughing: . Hence, we really stuck to the 75 mph speed limit. I did like the way we came in but there was lots of construction. We were in a neighborhood that i would love to live in-right behind MK-cool!! Or close enough to it.

We finally got our of there and found DD.

We figured we could get to DD to activate my AP, get DDE, transfer my Disney Reward Dollars onto a DR card, check into Pop, and rest up before heading out. We got there about 3:30-ish, i think.

For lunch DH and I got a small meal from the food court when we got there, and the kids had a mac n cheese meal using our handy dandy hot pot ($12 at Linens and Things-boils water in about a minute).

Anyway, at Pop, we got nothing we asked for but were close to the busses-YAY!!!:woohoo: A plus for us. I asked for the top floor, facing the lake-figured I could get one of the 2. well, we wound up next door to mt DB, which we did not ask for-but we did ask to be close to each other.

we got 3rd floor, and we did hear the pitter patter of a happy kids feet sporadically above us-but it wasn't bad-no voices were heard other than that of DN3, who is obviously NOT a morning bath chic!!:cutie: :cutie:

The rest of this day-the Luau, will be saved for when I can post photos of it- it was so very cool and so much more than expected. a great start to our vacation! and my birthday dinner!!

Lori

:yay: I found you.....This is only the 3rd trip report I've ever read....looking forward to the rest!!
