Yep, we didn't spend much time at F&W on the weekend. Sunday evening wasn't bad, but we didn't even venture over on Saturday knowing what it would look like (especially with the drunks) We spent a long time there Thursday & the lines were pretty much non-existent ~~~ It was great! Did you try the Torched Cherry colada from Puerto Rico? Such a yummy drink!
And who doesn't stand for Illuminations??!! Sorry you had to deal with drama during that.

Oh, it was great to read that your December trip is now at WL. I know that's where you had wanted to be all along but it wasn't available. I'm so glad you were able to get it on short notice AND with free dining!! Hope you already had some good dinners planned

I only got 2 things at food and wine: a margarita from Mexico and a beer with the collectors cup and right now I have no idea what happened to the cup, it may be in the kitchen lol. We'll see if I become inspired to start a PTR and just do the PTR/TR all in one and make it short and sweet. How could I not haha.

Seriously, who doesn't stand during Illuminations? That is so strange to me. The F&W festival has always been really crowded when I've gone too, which is why normally I just spend an ungodly amount of time walking around WS trying to sample things.

I think it's my fav of the Mod resort pools!!! POFQ will always hold a special place because it was the first resort I ever stayed at but CSR is pretty great!

I feel like Sunday has flown by!! We'll see if the PTR gets started tonight lol

I don't really want you to do any Dec. trip updates on here because it'll just make me jealous. LOL, just kidding. I know we went in August but it is kind of depressing now that it's getting so close to when we were originally going to go.

OT: DEC TRIP PLANS...

HAPPY TUESDAY DIS FRIENDS!!

I know I don't normally post trip updates on the weekdays but this isn't about the Oct trip, this is about the Dec trip!

I've decided instead of doing a full blown-out PTR for a trip that's 22 days away that I would just do minor updates on this TR and then do a TR when I get back..sounds good?!

LET'S GO!!!!


DATES:

Dec 9-14 (Thurs-Tues)

WHO'S GOING?!!

MY FAMILY!!

Myself, mom, dad, and brother (hopefully).

TRANSPORTATION:

~Mm and I are flying out on Thurs the 9th on Delta-$177 round trip plus free bags because we both have the Am Express credit card!!

Cincinnati- MCO 4:10pm-6:33pm
MCO- Cincinnat 3:55pm-6:15pm

~Due to work commitments/meetings/board meetings, Dd is flying out on Friday the 10th on Airtran-$200 plus a bag fee.

Dayton- MCO 6:40am-9:00am
MCO-Dayton 12:30pm-6:30pm (layover in either Atlanta or Baltimore, can't remember!)

~Dbro (brother) is not sure at this point. If you know me and my OCD, this does not set well for me as I am a planner and he has no idea what he's doing or if he's even coming. Meanwhile, he was the reason we were supposed to go in the first place and then his termination happened and here we are. He talked about driving down himself and leaving on Wed 8th and staying till till Tues 14th. We have an aunt that live east of Atlanta so it's a good stopping point. Assuming he wants to move back in Jan, it would be good for him to have a car to drive around with his roommates to look at places to live. He's also talked about flying and renting a car but with rates already $150, he would have to pay an extra $25 a day since he's only 23. Or..he might not go at all. He has till next week to decide. Hopefully something will be arranged this weekend.

~If Dbro doesn't come or if he flys, I've already secured a rental car with Dollar. They have 10% off if you pay with Am Express so it was $150 total for Thurs-Tues. I'll just say it's my contribution to the trip and will make my anti-bus impatient father happy
Or, if anything, I've secured DME for all 4 of us.

RESORT:

Originally, our plans were:

Dec 9th at POP paying full price since there were no CM discount rooms open-room only
Dec 10-14th at AKL Savanna view with Bunk Beds-room only

(we'd have park tickets with Dbro's main gate pass)

..due to the termination, we had to give those up and I bought an AP so now:

Dec 9th at POP with my AP discount room only + QS DDP
Dec 10-14 at...


WILDERNESS LODGE!!!

It is by far our favorite resort. Yacht Club comes in a close second. If you can imagine the stress I endured having to give up such a good room at AKL and trying to find something, anything at nearly 45 days before the trip. I searched for a few days trying to stay patient by looking at CM discount rooms (through my friend that did the CSR upgrade), AP room discount, WDW discount, and Free Dining.
Finally, after 4 days and nearly giving up all hope..free dining came up at WL!!

I did the number crunching..
Courtyard view with Bunk Beds
$433 a night = $264 (if you think of it as paying for the dining instead of rack rate)
plus the tickets since my family need them now...I presented it to Dd and he said that was fine

I was also able to find out that I'm able to save my park tickets and apply them to an AP upgrade for next year!

FOOOOOD!!!!!!

Also another unneeded stress! Since we weren't on Free Dining with the CM discount rooms, we only had one ADR booked: CLP but now we needed 2 more ADRS.

I hate to waste 2 meals for CLP but due to the number of days we're there for, it just makes sense to use them.

CLP will be Dec 11th (sat) 4:10pm at Chefs De France and Whoopi Goldberg at CLP!!

I also have a few others booked but they haven't even been discussed yet with my fam..yet another feeling.


That's pretty much as of now. We've gotten our DME info and today we got our Free Dining package info in the mail so it will be here before we know it!!

UGH, I can't believe that lady was so rude to you! Somebody should have kicked her drunk butt out of there. I can't stand obnoxious people like that. I always think, if people like her are that rude on vacation, imagine what they must be like at home!

It's making me nuts too! The sole fact that I have about 6 ADRs booked for only 2 meals that we need and no day to day plan is driving me nuts too.

Haha. Men don't understand how we girls stress about our trip plans! My dad is super psycho once we get there and used to be super psycho when planning but now his daughter (me) has taken over that role and has x it by a billion!!! We'll see what this weekend brings!!

It seems like forever since I did a trip update! I just realized that the Dec trip will be 2 weeks away on Thursday so I gotta start getting this one done. Good thing I only have a 3 day work week this week!!

When we last left off, we were sitting enjoying Illuminations, or were trying to thanks to the loud-mouth, drunk girl behind us

After it was over, of course we darted out towards the Monorail to head to MK for Wishes and EMH. M and K were pretty much running as J and I were walking fast! When we got to the monorail, everyone else must have thought the same thing because there were people everywhere and we were in a great position leaving! As we were standing in line, that's when M said she wasn't feeling too good and honestly she looked like she was going to puke!

We waited 3 monorails and finally got on without any elderly people or sleeping children so we got seats! At that point, M had made the call that she was going to get on the bus back to CSR instead of going to MK EMH. We felt sad for her because the park was open till 3am and she was highly looking forward to going but felt that if she was sick or getting sick, sleep would be better. Based on her timeline, she was up at 4am the day before, went to AK, bed at midnight, we got up at 6:30am and she didn't take an afternoon break. All that mixed with the FL heat that she isn't used to anymore + she didn't eat or drink much except for lunch at 50s led to her sickness!

Finally we got to MK and said bye to M and walked in!

Our plan was to watch Wishes first!

After Wishes, we headed into the park! Now that I'm sitting here typing this, I for the life of me can't remember what we did. That's the problem with MK and TR, you either write it down or you will never remember. I do know that we got a lot of things done including SM, COP, TTA, SmWorld, Pirates, HM, Pooh, PM, SWhite, and Jungle Cruise with the most amazing British skipper!!

We actually ended up leaving just after 1am. We were all tired and didn't want to do anything since we would be back at MK the following 2 nights. We said bye to K as she got on her bus to Music and we got on ours to CSR. We we got back, M was sleeping and woke up and said she ate and drank lots of food and felt much better

So pretty much the day ended up being a day from YOU KNOW WHERE..in many ways. Tomorrow is another day right???

BREAKFAST WITH LILO AND STITCH!


I figured why not do 2 updates today!

First of all, I would just like to express my hate for the new PHOTOBUCKET format. I'm not sure if it's me but it seems like it takes FOREVER to upload on Photobucket and mine will say 100% done but it will only load some of the pics so I apologize for advance in the order that this is presented because they all loaded funny!


SUNDAY OCT 24, 2010
~BREAKFAST AT OHANA!!


The alarm for today went off at 8:30 which was a blessing and we all needed the sleep!

I of course was the first one up and ready to go so I decided to go take some pics and meet the girls in the lobby. K was picking us up in her car to drive to Poly so we didn't have to do the whole bus hop thing which would have made me go nuts!

Like I said, I had way more pics of the lobby including the fountain and much more but they for some reason didn't load and I got tired of seeing it say 9/22 pics loaded but it said 100% complete. If anyone else is having issues or uses another/easy site, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!!

K picked us up right on time! We got in and headed to Poly! The plan was for her to leave the car for the day so that when she needed to leave after MNSSHP, she would be close by. She had to work the following day at her school and had a 1.5 hr drive home so having the car at Poly was very easy and they are so wonderful at the Poly!

We said bye M and K as they went to Kona and J and I went to Ohana for our 10:50am ADR. Now you know with my past TR, it's not that I don't dislike Ohana but I do dislike the service that I've had the past 5 times in the past 2 years.

We did get buzzed rather quickly which was a good first start!

We were a row from the windows which didn't have a view of the castle at all.

Our server came some-what quickly and took drink orders. We asked for juice and waters. While we waited, we ate our welcome bread, and then our food arrived..no fruit.

Our server came back 15 mins later with drinks..no waters.

We asked for water and the fruit that we were missing and he left again.

Finally we got it all, 40 mins into the meal. The good thing was, we got to see all the characters quickly and some twice!

Once again, my Lilo pic didn't load, I apologize!

J ended up eating 6 mickey waffles! She's skinny but the girl can eat!

We got to see the parade too!

My overall thoughts this visit..my 6th in 3 years:

-Service was better but not great.
-Characters were great.
-Probably wouldn't pay OOP for the meal unless I had a discount or had small children.

We were in and out in just an hour which was good to me! I just don't get that at a restaurant that is only making the same thing, why everything has to take forever, especially when the server has a helper. That is something I'll never understand but in and out in an hour is pretty good there! We didn't buy the pic either.

After our meal, we went to Kona as M and K were finishing up. We all got on the monorail and said our goodbyes at the bus station. M had to get back to CSR to get ready for MNSSHP (JUST WAIT TILL YOU SEE HER!), J wanted to go to the gym, and I of course headed to the pool!

Awesome updates!!!! It seems like every other Ohana review I read is not so flattering! We are eating breakfast and dinner there for our trip, so I am hoping that it is decent! Olivia is really looking forward to eating with Lilo and Stitch! I can't wait to see MNSSHP pics!
