TR - A Gregarious Ghostly Gallivant - Final Thoughts Finally Posted!

Stitch had them in stitches for sure :lmao: They had lots of fun and yes, the rest did me a LOT of good. I wasn't back to 100% the next day but I was functional.

The character interactions that I took part in were very good. I had a couple of really great ones during the Trick or Treat party - looking forward to showing the pics and telling everyone about them :goodvibes

Ohhh, you noticed Kyra's gloves - you're the first. She really loves them and the hat. She really lights up when she finds stuff that she likes to wear, it really amps up her personality :yay:

The pool was never very crowded, even when it got hot. The kids swam almost every day. It is a pretty cool pool for sure.

Thanks about the fireworks. It was cool being able to see them from the room, and they even had a channel on the TV set to do the audio for it. But nothing compares to being there in front of the castle for the full show :wizard:

That's what he's good at :goodvibes

Glad the rest did you some good to re-join the family the next day.

Ooooo can't wait to see the pics and hear about it!!

She really does have a great style. She seems like my type of girl! I dressed pretty funky "back in my day" too

That's awesome that nothing was very crowded. I LOVE the Picture of them on ToT by themselves. So great!!

That's neat that you can hear the music from the TV too. But I agree, nothing is like being right there up close and personal for the show.

That he is, and I'll have pics for day 3 posted tomorrow (hopefully).

Kyra has a cool sense of style, wears a lot of blues and blacks. Very much blazes her own trail and doesn't bow to trends.

Yup, they had good luck with lines all the way around. You'll have to wait until I get to Friday on the trip to see the up close pics from the show ;)

WooHoo!! Looking fwd to the next update!

She's one cool kid. It's good not to follow the trend. I never did as a kid either. And I still don't really. I just don't dress as funky as I used to

That's awesome! Seems like a great time of the year to go to DLR. Ooooo will be looking fwd to seeing those pictures as well

Yes, she is pretty cool :cool2: I ended up going to Roxy's work after mine and worked until 8pm, so no time for finishing day 3's pictures. And tonight Kyra performs at the High School as part of the football game so I probably won't have time tonight either :P We'll try again tomorrow ;)

Ah busy busy busy. It's all good. I guess I can be patient just this once.:laughing:

Your pictures are really nice.

Cracking up at the fingerless gloves...DS has a pair, and a few days after he asked for (and obviously got) his, hubby had to get his own. So they have matching Skellington gloves. :)

Thank you, I enjoy capturing all that fun stuff. But most of what you saw from day 2 was taken by Roxy. She did a great job :)

Oh yes! Kyra loves her gloves - cool that your clan adopted them too :thumbsup2 Good to see you back on the boards. Hard to gear back into RL after all the Disney fun.

My computer finally brought up your pics for day 2.....the last couple times I tried....I got only the dialogue.....grrrr!!

Great pics & I can't believe the amount of characters they ran into!! How fun for them!

ToT all by themselves??? That's crazy....it always has long lines! (of course, I've never stood in that line.....lol)

So sorry you missed out on what looked to be a GREAT day!!

Can't wait to see the next installment!!

Hello! Enjoying your trip report. It looks like everyone was having a great time while you were in the room recovering. We have had illness on our trips several times now, thus the name "QueenDoOver". The last trip was pretty darn good for us though, so not sure if I can really call the next one a "DoOver" or not! I was there about the same time as you, but did not see any other dis'er except Molly and clan. Looking forward to next installment.

Well glad they finally came up for you. I know we had a power outage here a few days back so you may have tried connecting during that timeframe.

Yes, it was characters galore for them, and such fun interactions. They had a great time with them. And yes, couldn't believe their luck with ToT. They apparently didn't have to wait too long for California Screamin' either but couldn't ride it again because the park was closing.

I'm okay with having missed just the one day. Wouldn't have been my preference but that's the way things go sometimes. Next installment coming up!

Hiya! Thanks for stopping by :goodvibes Yup, they had a blast for sure. So that's where you got your name, sorry it was such icky circumstances to give it to you. I got sick on our WDW trip too, thought it was allergies but turned into a nasty cough and head cold on our EPCOT day. Luckily I bounced back from that one and was able to keep truckin' without any downtime ;)

Glad your last trip went so well and hope that trend continues! Yeah, I had my eyes open for anything lime green and did see quite a few people with lime green shirts on but couldn't tell if it was a fashion statement or a DIS thing. I did run into Noreen (Husker Mickey) and her hubby in line for Peter Pan's Flight though :yay:

I finally got day 3's pics sorted, resized, renamed, and uploaded so I'll start day 3 right now!

Woo hoo! I love the picture of you in your costume that I saw.

Okay, so I had slept basically all day on Tuesday and felt almost human (with the help of an extra hot shower and a dose of Daquil). We had another Disneyland day lined up with Toontown Morning Madness vouchers.

We had planned to get ourselves together and walk to McDonalds ...for breakfast this time ...heheh. Since Roxy doesn't do breakfast usually and had done the long day with the kids the day before, she chose to get a little more sleep. So the kids and I got a move on and made the "big walk" through DTD and out of the park to the Mickey D's.

Breakfast was okay and a large OJ did wonders for my throat. Still I was not quite up to par so I handed the camera to Kris as we made our way into the park. Here's me and Bean as we made our way through security

DIsney2009-0233.JPG

We made our way in pretty quickly and were soon rolling past the big Mickey Pumpkin.

DIsney2009-0234.JPG

The kids still weren't interested in getting their picture taken and we were getting close to opening time in Toontown so we strolled on (Bean will LOVE me for posting the "duh" look she has going, but oh well ...hehehe)

DIsney2009-0236.JPG

Bean wanted to try and pull the sword from the anvil so we strolled through the castle and on to it. Bean went first
DIsney2009-0237.JPG

Then Pumpkin Girl
DIsney2009-0238.JPG

And Kris gave it his best too
DIsney2009-0239.JPG

DIsney2009-0240.JPG

We got back on track and walked past IaSW
DIsney2009-0241.JPG

And then we were up to the gates, handing over our vouchers, and in to Toontown. Everyone was already gathering over in front of City Hall so we found a pretty good spot and waited. It was kind of nice having Kris doing the camera work because we got three whole pictures of me in the parks before he handed it back!
DIsney2009-0242.JPG

Soon enough it was time to start the show. Here they came!
DIsney2009-0243.JPG

Mickey couldn't remember where his speech was

Then Goofy came up with it
DIsney2009-0253.JPG

Mickey started reading...
DIsney2009-0254.JPG

...a grocery list :D The CM looks it over to verify
DIsney2009-0255.JPG

Oh noooo!
DIsney2009-0256.JPG

To be continued ;-]

How cute a grocery list. Hey Mike you need to update the pictures in your signature. Oh and if Bean brains you for the picture, you deserve it.:goodvibes

So Mickey decided to wing it
DIsney2009-0257.JPG

Great speech and then he introduced the Toontown Honorary Family
DIsney2009-0258.JPG

There they are - happy happy
DIsney2009-0259.JPG

After that they wrapped it up and handed out our Toontown Citizens buttons and scavenger hunt info and we were on our way ...straight into the gift shop because it has started to rain harder than just a drizzle.

We then started making the rounds. First stop - JAIL!

DIsney2009-0278.JPG

We strolled back up towards the houses and they took turns sitting in Mickey's car

DIsney2009-0280.JPG

What do you wish for?

DIsney2009-0281.JPG

The line was long to go into Minnie's house and non-existant for Mickey's. I said I would wait in the line for Minnie's while they went through Mickey's house. But little did they know that Mickey was waiting for them somewhere back in there ...hehehe.

We'll pick up with that next time folks!

Woo hoo! I love the picture of you in your costume that I saw.

Hehe, thank you! I'm slowly working towards the ToT party night ;)

How cute a grocery list. Hey Mike you need to update the pictures in your signature. Oh and if Bean brains you for the picture, you deserve it.:goodvibes

Yes, it was very cute :goodvibes You're right - I have the wrong trip showing down there in my siggy don't I? I'll get that up to speed soon, thanks for the suggestion :thumbsup2 And yeah, it was horrible of me, but there are so few pictures of me during these trips that I had to - lol

"and scavenger hunt info and we were on our way ...straight into the gift shop because it has started to rain harder than just a drizzle."

Except for the scavenger hunt, sounds like our experience. and, well, the rain started after the honorary family announced that "they" (heh-hem) were from Washington state. :rolleyes1

Oh gracious, where did Kris get that vintage Members Only jacket???? I had one, in purple, back in 7th and 8th grade, LOL.

If he wears it for the kitsch factor, and if he likes Star Wars, you should let him know that the leather-looking jacket Luke Skywalker wears during the awards ceremony at the end of New Hope was a gussied up Members Only jacket. An ex of mine was friends with super-StarWars-freak who not only owned a cylon (Battlestar Galactica), but also owned that jacket for awhile (or more likely one of the many made for the scene)...up close it looks very very different than on screen, so the boyfriend said...

Continuing to love the pix, am also recognizing that weather, and as much fun as E is right now, I'm starting to really look forward to him being a few years older, as it seems to be a very different experience to visit Disneyland as with a 5 year old...

Hey Mustard

Didn't realize you had done another update

Glad you were feeling better and made it to parks with rest of the gang

Toontown madness morning or whatever you call it, looks like a blast

That is so cool you all have a roger rabbit ride. I love that movie

Great pics!!!!:goodvibes

Like Kelly I had no idea you did another update. Someone didn't update their title. Just sayin......:rolleyes1

Anyways, GREAT update!! The camera hand off thing happens to me too. If I don't take the pictures myself then we will never get any. Chris even had his own camera the whole time last year and he NEVER once touched it! Ugh! At least you made your way into some pictures. :thumbsup2

The early morning party looks like fun! And the pictures of the kids trying to get the sword from the stone are really cute. Kris just looks too happy for that early in the morning

So are we hinting that you got to be "the family???" Very cool! :thumbsup2

Kris certainly has his own sense of style, having picked up a "Starsky and Hutch" style red leather jacket at a thrift shop at the coast this past summer. I believe he originally got the members only jacket from his dad so it has that going for it.

But on top of that he has a story where he almost fell out of a truck, and if it wasn't for the jacket snagging on something he would have fallen out of it. He loves it despite it being faded and having a big hole over the pocket. I'll let him know about the Skywalker tie-in ;)

As far as E being 5 at DLR, that's how old Bean was on our 2005 visit. And that was a wetter experience than we had a couple of weeks ago. It does make for more emotional ups and downs and tiredness sets in quicker.

I'm heading the other way with it. I figure the next time we make it to a Disney park will be when Kyra is 16 and Bean is 13 ...I can't even fathom how that is going to go

Howdy Sharky! Yeah, I got the updates posted and had to leave to meet up with Roxy right after so I didn't get a chance to update my title :sad2: Glad your TR update radar went off :thumbsup2

Yes, it was a good morning and I was very happy (if a bit foggy with cold meds) to be back in the parks. The toontown thing was very fun and festive. And the Roger Rabbit ride is a lot of fun, forgot that there isn't one at WDW.

Great update! DL's Toontown looks like a lot of fun! :goodvibes

Thank you - it was! :yay:

Yeah, I know :sad2: The funny thing is I just updated it and I'm going to post another update so I'll have to go right back and update links and change it again :lmao:

The picture taking went much better here than at WDW. There I was only in 2 pictures (other than photopass pics) out of the thousands that I took. It is easier now because I can trust all 3 kids (within reason) to be responsible with the camera and they all enjoy taking pics. Sorry that Chris hasn't caught the picture taking bug.

I was suprised at how much energy the kids had despite the early morning and the weather. The kids loved the sword thing and came back to it a total of 3 times to try their luck ;)
