Friends, my family and I are safe and our house is fine too. We had power restored yesterday so we are in great shape compared to most in the area. The hurricane was frightening. A large oak is up against my neighbors house and his house is damaged. The oak knocked his chimney off and it landed between our houses. It just missed my son's room.

Houston and the whole SE Texas area is in bad shape but water and supplies are pouring in. Neighborhoods are banding together to share supplies in a real Texas can do spirit.

If you want to do something to help you can donate blood if you can. You can also donate to the Red Cross. Keep rooting for the Red Sox too!

Wow Trek, I'm glad to hear you all are okay! Thank god the tree missed your sons room!
I donate platelets every few months, so I will make sure to do it again soon. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do.

Thanks. We are getting better by the hour. It is amazing folks expectations. Some folks can complain because there is no organic milk in the store when others don't even have a home left. Then folks can complain the govt is not giving them enough.

The govt should do more to help people instead of bailing out these Wall Street companies.

Things are going good here. I'm incredibly busy in school, and would love to stick my head in the sand and not do a thing, but I'd have to answer to too many people. So I keep plugging away.

I brought all the gang bangers and drug dealers I know to central reservations and threatened them to give it to me. Would you have expected anything less from me?

Seriously though, I didn't know they extended fd through November...when are you going in Nov again???

We decided to cancel Septembers trip, with the cost of gas, my job was talking about furloughs, and BOTH of our tennants decided they we're going to pay their rents anymore we decided to postpone! We are looking at going in December now though, we have some timeshare points we need to use or lose before Dec 31, so we're considering going then!

Check out the main page under UPDATES, I think its the second one down. It wasn't that they extended it, they just decided to release more dates. I assume the resorts were just not filling. It really is a great deal, there is even a discount on the room as well.....for instance my aunts is paying $1567.52 for (2 adults and 1 child) 8 nights at PoP with 7 day park hopper, and free dining. You can't beat that with a bat.......well you couldn't, Im from Lawrence so I sure could!

Long time no type

Trek - glad to hear that you are all ok....keep up posted if there is anything we can do. I cannot donate blood (had hepatitis A).

Cruz - WTG on noticing the free dining before it gets sold out!!! Hoping wic can bag the deal too!!!

As for me it has just been incredibly busy here. I am no longer a SAHM. I work outside the house from 9-2 M, T, TH, F doing a/p, a/r and invoicing (as well as filing and other office basics) for a mid sized construction company. I can make my own hours and am only expected to work 15-20 hours a week. All three kids are in school all day now. Frank the Tank is doing the whole football thing again. He is starting MLB or Saftey for his PeeWee AA team. That practice is 3 nights a week this year with his games at the buttcrack of dawn (8AM) on Saturdays .

Other than that all is going rather well here......and I had to LMAO with the special raffle going on for homecoming this year. Cruz and wic popped right in to my head. Go ahead...guess what these looneys are doing. It has to do with a cow. Go ahead....I'll wait

did you see that the new DVC tower at the contemporary is opening next year. I think we may buy into it as have been looking at DVC for a couple of years. Anyone else looking at it?

Houston is slowly recovering. Wish I was in wdw right now.

I did see it, and they are amazing!!!!!! We (or I should say "I") have been thinking about it but I sure as heck can't afford that one. I think we would end up at Animal Kingdom, IMHO it is the best bang for you buck. But don't get me wrong.......if I could afford bay tower, I would do it in a heartbeat! How does you wife feel about it?
