TPAS2 Alumni and friends thread

Where in NJ? If you are on the Parkway could you stop by exit 135 and say hi to my Dad and sister?

DD had her birthday yesterday. We all went out to dinner and then opened gifts. Her favorite gift was a huge box full of different bags of sunflower seeds in many different flavors. She love sunflower seeds during softball and this was a cool gift. The flavors include ranch dressing, pickle juice, jalepeno, salted, and BBQ.

Hey Thptrek, my DD's birthday was on Sunday! She's 8 now! :thumbsup2

Let me guess....on your way to Disney again????? :confused3 :rotfl2:

Well Crap in a Cracker, you just deflated my balloon.... :rotfl:

Yep, my husband has a business trip there starting Sunday and yesterday we decided that I'm going with him...sans children. :woohoo: :yay:  My 19yo DD will be in charge of her little brothers for a few days. :scared1: :scared:

My god woman, you just came back from there! :rotfl2:

You're not driving down are you???? :scared1:

So where are you staying????

Doing Disney without kids is fun, went with just my husband last year...but towards the end of the week, I was missing my daughter! Which would explain why we're going again in September, with her this time! Guilt...it's a terrible thing! :rotfl:

No, we're NOT driving!!! We're staying at the Swan. I'm sure I'll be missing the kids, too. And I will worry about them this time, but I do when anyone but my husband is with them. However we really need some time together, so this will benefit them, too. Things have been a bit rocky between us lately (and we've each had a lot of individual crap to deal with). It's improved between us a little bit, but this will be good timing.

Well have a great vacation Tig...enjoy your alone time with your husband! Your kids will be fine, how big of a party could they have anyways????

Ana, I got my tickets for the Dynamo game next week (DD birthday party). The birthday package is a great deal. We'll have to meet up before the game.

So how was the game? I'm assuming you went to the 6/3 game?

Ana, if you see Vanessa in your office I left her a message that my daughter did not get her birthday call from a player yesterday. Wanted to make sure she had the right phone numbers.

Hey all -

When is Tig due back? Hope her trip went well - alone time with Hubby is always a good thing. I got back from a few days in New York City with mine. We went up on Sunday the 3rd together, he had classes each day, we met for lunch Monday and Tuesday and I went home on Wednesday, he came home on Friday. Sunday and Monday were really crappy weather wise, but Tuesday was B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!!!!!!

click the link in my siggie to see a short report and some pics!!!

Is everyone doing ok??!! Haven't missed too much, have I?? I miss talking to you guys all the time - let's keep this thing going!!!

T & B's not back yet? :confused3

Well I hope her and her husband are having a great time!

Hello everyone!!!

Sorry I'm just seeing your message; did she finally get the call or did Vanessa contact you? I just tried reaching her but she's out to lunch. Please let me know.

Ana, we had a great time at the game. The Dynamos won 2-1. The player that scored the winning goal was the player that called my daughter in the afternoon to wish her Happy Birthday. When he scored she said that is the guy who called me. The Autographed ball is really nice. We got an acrylic case to put the ball in.

The Dynamo just need to get a new stadium and hopefully the plans will come together for it soon.

T, I read your trip report about NYC. I grew up in NJ just outside the city. I read your remarks about Ground Zero and let me tell you that my MIL and FIL worked for MMC. MMC had a large office in the WTC. My FIL lost most of his staff that day. They worked in another MMC office and were not near the WTC. I can tell you that it hit them very hard to lose so many people you know just like that. As a matter of fact we really don't ever really talk or mention anything about it.

That is the reason I tried to tiptoe around the subject. I know alot of people are very sensitive about it....and they have every right to be. Jim didn't want to go over there to see the temporary memorial setup but he did and he has put closure on it for himself. He was sad about what happened - but moreso he was downright angry that it happened. (he is ex-Air Force) Like I said, we had no personal attachment other than being an American Citizen, but it still stings pretty bad - for ALOT of people. I couldn't even begin to imagine what your IL's went through and are still dealing with today.

I hope that the architects renderings of the proposed memorial park come to be - it looks beautiful.

Hello! :wave2: We got back from WDW Wednesday night. We had a great time--relaxing, fun, and plenty of  . My husband had to work almost the whole time, but did manage to spend one evening at Epcot with me. And I got to see another DISer and her kids (I'd met them before). All in all a good time--something that we really needed.

We go down to Universal two weeks from tomorrow. :cool1:

When we walked by the WTC a couple years ago I was surprised by the emotions that I had. I was so overcome, which really surprised me since I hadn't personally lost anyone. So very sad. :sad1:
