Toystoryduo's Journal....Moving Forward From Here

Thanks for stopping by, ladies! :grouphug:

We've got lots to do before we leave today. A few errands to run, some last minute cleaning to do, e.t.c. At some point, I need to get a quick nap in since I am driving the first leg of the trip. My DH only got about 5 hours of sleep last night and will be working until we get the rental car. No chance for a nap for him. :(

This is going to be a different type of trip for us....The first part is unplanned. The second park is filled with theme parking.

12/8: Leave Ohio (just before a big storm hits!)
12/9 Arrive in Florida, stop at the beach on the way down (weather permitting), head to Orlando, check in at timeshare, MIL joins us
12/10: ????
12/11: ????
12/12: DH's cousin comes to visit or we go visit them
12/13: MVMCP
12/14: Check into BWV
12/15: DHS and Osbourne Lights :santa:
12/16: Epcot
12/17: Leave early, DH has to work on Friday

One of the reasons that I love our annual December trip is that it gives a chance to reflect on the year that has gone by and gives us a chance to look forward to the year ahead. My DH and I really want to be on the same page with our goals for next year and (2) 16 hour drives will allow us to do just that. ;)

My DH will have his Blackberry with him so I'll try to check in once or twice while we're gone.

Have a wonderful week, ladies! :grouphug: See ya real soon!

1 day!!! :thumbsup2

Just wanted to jump in and wish you a great vacation.

Have fun Wish Sis! I hope you get some rest today before your drive.

I did think of one other thing (if you see this before you leave lol). If you decide to hang out a bit at DHS, bear in mind the boats to BW and BC only run one hour past park closing. We lingered too long one time and had to walk back and it was deserted on that walking path. Since Fantasmic starts when the park closes, by the time that was over, we got out of the theater and then shopped, the time went fast!

Since you have a car, I would drive to DHS to avoid those boats. They are always crowded and very slow! The walk isn't bad, in fact its lovely and quicker!

Thanks Deb and Amy!

We just had lunch (DH brought home pizza.) and we'll be heading out shortly to get the rental car. We're about 80% done with the to do list so we should be able to leave on time.

Thanks for the BWV's tips, Amy! :goodvibes

I hope everyone has a great day today and a wonderful week ahead!:grouphug: See ya real soon!

I can't believe you are leaving already!! Praying that you have a wonderful, SAFE, trip!! Drive carefully.....looks like weather isn't great.

just checking in..hope your trip has been everything you dreamed of

Thanks for checking in, ladies!:grouphug:

We're home! :goodvibes We had a good vacation, but had some frustrations along the way. I'll try and do a mini report or a highlight list in the next day or so...

Today, I have lots to do...Pick up mail, finish Christmas shopping, go to the grocery store, go through e-mails, get DH's schedule in place, e.t.c. We also need to start looking for a new car....That's my DH's department though. ;)

I'll try and get to journals this weekend. Hope everyone has a great Friday!:wizard:

Welcome back.

I hope you got your stuff accomplished. I always go into "vacation brain" mode, and am stuck there for a good 2-3 days when I get back from a trip! :lmao:

Thanks Deb. I am experiencing some post WDW blues so it has been kind of hard to get motivated to get things done.

It's been a relaxing kind of day here....Church, breakfast, nap, watch football (the Browns won!:scared1:), and CVSing. Not much going on at the moment.

I'm hoping my DH will get my MIL to babysit so we can go out to dinner. I'd like to talk to him one on one about the new year and what our goals will be before the busyness of the holiday takes over....

That's about all from here...Have a great Sunday!

Welcome Home Wish Sis!!

I am sorry you had some frustrations, I hope the trip still went well. Did you enjoy Boardwalk? I hope so, I am anxious to hear more about your trip.

Hope you got a night out with your dh. :goodvibes

Tracy
Glad you had a great time.We got about 2 inches compared to the 10 in. they said we would get- how about you guys anything?

Linda

Hope you got your dinner out! I like the idea of setting your goals for the year together. One of the things I do when I get back from a trip is start to look at what our next trip might be -- it keeps me in the moment just a little longer. LOL

Hope you have a great week!

Thanks ladies. :grouphug:

Not much going on today....Wrapping some gifts, planning cookie baking, going to see Christmas lights, straighten up the house. That's about all. I'll probably do some reading and work on goals (not resolutions ;) ) for the year ahead.

Hope everyone has a great Monday!:goodvibes

Amy~ We loved the room at BWV, but the parking was kind of tough. Once we arrived, we decided not to drive anywhere and used Disney buses the whole time we were there. The girls absolutely loved the pool! I can't count the number of times they went down the slide.

Linda~ We got maybe an inch of snow here. The storm really missed us this time. However, if we had left WDW on Friday instead of on Thursday (we drove), we would have ended up smack dab in the middle of it and probably would have been stranded somewhere. I'm glad we left on Thursday! ;)

Deb~ We didn't get our dinner out last night. :( My DH and I went out and did a little bit of shopping first and got into a "disagreement" about his lack of action regarding getting a new car. We ended up picking the girls up from grandma's house and came home and watched TV. No further discussion about anything at all. :( Maybe we'll try again tonight or tomorrow.

Tracy,
Are you anywhere near Wilmington, Ohio that has had so many lay offs and foreclosures? Our gov. should be ashamed of themselves for letting this happen to hard working people. But they have no problem supporting people who live off the system generation after generation.

Linda

Welcome back! Sorry to hear you didn't get your dinner date last night. Maybe you can arrange something for later this week?

Tracy, its a stressful time of year, I think a lot of couples are having disagreements! I hope you and he get your dinner out tonight or tomorrow.

I am glad you didn't get too much snow, frankly a white Christmas is overrated in my book!

I so agree about the parking at BW. To me that issue, coupled with the bus sharing are the resort's only downfalls. But I am glad you enjoyed it, my kids loved that pool and slide too. Clowns creep me out, but I got used to seeing my kids fly out of his mouth!

Hope today is a good one for you!:goodvibes:hug:

Thanks ladies. :grouphug:

My DH and I did go out for dinner last night at Cracker Barrel and to finish up our Christmas shopping. We didn't talk about our goals for the year ahead, but we did manage to work through the car issue together. :goodvibes

The plan for the car thing is to rent another car for two more weeks. That means $300 less that we can spend on a vehicle, but my DH needs more time to find the right car. He's got a list of cars and phone numbers and will start working on it again today.

I need to do some work for my DH today. I also need to finish wrapping gifts and go to the store for some baking supplies. It looks like tomorrow will be cookie central at our home. ;)

I am so frustrated with myself and how much I weigh right now. I am officially the heaviest I have ever been. I'm not going to do anything before New Years, but come New Years, I need to get my head back in the game and get moving!

That's about all from here...Hope everyone has a wonderful day!:grouphug:

*******************************************************

Linda~ We don't live near Wilmington. We live about 40-45 minutes from Cleveland. The whole state of Ohio is a mess. :guilty: Unemployment rates are high, job opportunities are low, and our governor just increased taxes in a recession. Not only that, but the taxes will be retroactive. :sad2: Very frustrating!

Amy~ Thanks! We did go out to dinner last night. We had a good time, but the food was horrible. :( I actually called corporate and lodged a complaint last night. I'm supposed to get a return call today. We'll see how that goes. ;)

Amy~ My girls loved that BW slide! We loved the BW as a whole, but the parking was really limited. When we arrived at BW, there were people driving around looking for a parking space. Right then and there, I told my DH that we're parking it and leaving it until we leave. He agreed. :thumbsup2
