Toystoryduo's Journal....Moving Forward From Here

Weight is still up 4 pounds. I don't understand why.:confused3 I probably won't weight myself again until next Friday.
It's gotta be muscle, with your doing the weights. Maybe? Hopefully. Just keep doing it. Amy is right. You will show a big lose soon.

Sounds like a busy weekend with lots of birthday celebration. That's the way to do it. Let's us know how CEC goes. DD is thinking about doing it there also.

and YAY! on the progress on your street. I know you'll be happy when the construction equipment is gone.

Tracy, you are doing well with trying to get back on track. Don't be too hard on yourself in the beginning with the weight being up. Sometimes this happens, but as long as you are still moving, getting water, and watching your food, you will have those lbs gone in no time.

Thanks for reminding me that I am not the only one who "sees" one imagine in my mind and another in the mirror. It is hard to accept, but we do have to come to terms with reality if we are to change it. Guess it is time for me to revamp my plan as well.

Hope the rest of your day is a good one.

Quick post and I'll try to get to journals later on today....

Today is DD7's birthday!:cutie: We'll be heading out to Chuck E Cheese in a little while to meet up with our cousin and family. Not sure what the rest of our plans will be for the rest of the day, but DH hinted that he may have a surprise for DD7. :woohoo:

I'll try and post more later...Have a great day!:grouphug:

Happy Birthday to your dd! Hope Chuck E Cheese's was fun, I actually love the pizza at Chuck E. Cheese's!
:rotfl:

:bday:Happy Birthday to Tracy's DD:bday: Hope you had a great 7th birthday bash!

Okay, what was the surprise? I love surprises, even someone elses.

Busy weekend? Sounds like it. and guess what? I really like CEC pizza too!:love:

Thanks ladies. :grouphug: DD7 had a wonderful birthday yesterday. :yay:

I have been wallowing in self pity since my 4 pound gain on Friday and medicating with food. :( Great idea, huh? :rolleyes: I don't understand where these 4 pounds came from.:confused3 I had a really good week with food and exercise and gained 4 pounds. I have been eating like crazy since Friday and have gained .4 pounds. It doesn't make sense!:mad:

I need a plan to lose this weight. I'm not sure what I will do, but something has to be done. I have way too much weight to lose and won't lose it by eating. (Or will I? ;) :lmao: )

Today's Plan:
* SR
* Workout
* Walmart
* Work on portfolios
* Work on homeschooling goals for next year

That's about all from here...Have a great day!:grouphug:

Hi Tracy! :lovestruc I've missed you, girl! I haven't caught up on your journal, but wanted to say hello! Hope all is well.

Hi Wish Sis,

I think we can all relate to being depressed about our weight and eating to feel better! It makes no sense but we all do it. I remember a WW leader I had years ago said its like if you are upset your kitchen is on fire but rather than put it out, you go set the living room on fire too!:rotfl:

You'll get back on track. Maybe try one of those online sites that helps you track calories. I think Fitday is one? I know lovinaz has used one. Also WW online is very reasonable and helps you track calories for your recipes which is nice and has support boards and success stories. Its cheaper than doing the program that includes meetings.

We are all in this together, I know you can do it! Go out and buy yourself some really yummy, but healthy snacks and see if that helps. And hang in there!:hug:

Thanks Kim and Amy!:hug:

Kim~ It's nice to see you, girl! :hug: Sending you a PM....

Amy~ Your WW leader hit the nail on the head! That is exactly what it is like! ::yes::

Yesterday was another food fest. It seems like the more I focus on my weight issues, the more I sabotage them. Does that make sense?:confused3 I have no idea what weigh n will look like on Friday and I probably don't want to know. :(

Today, I need to help the girls get their portfolios done for assessment this weekend. That will probably take 1-2 hours each. Their textbooks for Health, Science, and History came in a couple of days ago and they are very excited about the stuff they will learn in the upcoming year.

Today's Plan:

* SR
* Workout
* Portfolios
* Library

That's about all from here. Have a great day!:grouphug:

Hi Tracy
I'm so sorry your feeling down, but glad your picking yourself up again. someone told me regarding healthy eating that- ''if it grows out the ground its good & healthy to eat'' kinda helps when i'm tempted in supermarkets & restaurants! i've also found counting calories has helped too.

I'm so pleased for you that you have a December WDW trip booked - & kinda jealous too ;) especally about the candlelight prosession & osborne lights, did them years ago & would love to take my mum & dad to see them...ah one day hopefully!

belated happy wedding anniversary to you & DH (wheres your medal ;)) & happy 7th birthday to DD :)

remember to count your blessings - you have many & the weight loss will come with persiverence (SP??) :hug:

Thanks Tracey. :hug: My heart needed those words of encouragement.:hug:

Time to celebrate a little! party: Why you ask?

1. The girls' homeschooling portfolios are almost done!:banana:

2. We are 45 days away from WDW!:banana:

Okay, back to my regularly scheduled post. ;)

Today's Plan:

* SR
* Workout-Weights
* Portfolios
* Homeschooling Goals for Upcoming Year
* Thank you notes with DD7
* DD7's birthday party at my MIL's house

Can you believe that July is almost over?!?!?:eek: That means school and soccer are right around the corner for us! Where did the summer go?

Weekend Plans:

Friday: Head out to the Dollar Store, Clean the house, Finish portfolios

Saturday: Parade, DH deejays, Girls and I clean the house or go shopping

Sunday: Church, Portfolio assessment

Next weekend, my brother and SIL will be coming home for their wedding reception at my grandma's house. We haven't seen them in almost two years! We're very excited!!:banana:

Finally, just wanted to share a couple of books that I have read and am reading at the moment:

Mousejunkies by Bill Burke-> Great book! :thumbsup2Those of us who love the mouse can really appreciate this book! :goodvibes I think the author is even a DISer.

The Hidden Magic of WDW by Susan Veness-> This book has so many things in it that I didn't know about WDW! It's a fun read and I will probably get my own copy someday just so I can memorize all the fun facts and impress my family. ;)

Just Hand Over the Chocolate and No One Will Get Hurt by Karen Scalf Linamen-> Very funny and yet encouraging at the same time; quick read!

That's about all for now... Have a great day!:grouphug:

Hi Tracy
Hope you had a good day.

45 days until Disney!:woohoo: The time will fly by now and then you will be walking under the trainstation and around the corner and up Main Street to the Castle. Don't forget to have your picture made by a photo pass photographer. I am so excited for you. It's almost here. :banana:

I wish I could help you, I really do. You'll figure it out. You can do it. You know you can. ::yes::

Thanks for the new books to read. I have heard about the chocolate one, but didn't know anyone who had read it to have a recommendation if it was worth the time. Thanks. :thumbsup2

Hey. did you ever tell us the surprise that your DH had for your DD? or was he just joking with her? I love surprises. :love:

Hey there,

I think sometimes the more you worry and think about something, the more you wig out about it! Just eat what you want, in very small portions and go from there. I like Tracey's idea of eating what grows out of the ground. Remember chocolate is from a tree that grows in the ground! Seriously, I do the same thing with food and money. I wig out about being fat, so I eat. I get stressed about money and I shop (although that is something I have all but conquered thank goodness). Its sort of just human nature.

Stock healthy snacks, drink your water, keep moving and it will all be fine!

Gotta get that WDW book....;)

Thanks ladies. :grouphug:

I am totally stressed out right now. :( Soccer practices start for the season on Monday and no one has e-mailed or called us to let us know which team my DD8 is on. My DH is an assistant coach for the team as well, but couldn't make the meeting on Monday night. We have e-mailed the coaching coordinator who then passed the buck on to someone else. We have not heard from anyone yet. :mad: This is really ticking me off. :headache: We have two girls on two separate teams and my DH is an assistant coach for each team and no one can let him know what team my daughter is on, who the head coach is, or what day practice is?!?!?! Nice way to treat your volunteers!:sad2:

Not only that, but one of the contractors that my DH works for scheduled him to work on Monday (without asking him) when he already has something going on!:eek: How is he supposed to be in two places at one time? I'm not sure how this is going to work out. I doubt we will be able to get a hold of anyone over the weekend. UGH! UGH! UGH!:mad:

I guess that's what I get for reading e-mails before I go to bed.

If you have any spare :wizard::wizard: , please send it.

Nothing has been resolved yet with soccer or with my DH's work schedule on Monday. The soccer thing is really frustrating me. My DH has volunteered for AYSO for 6 years now and this is how our family gets treated?:mad: The season starts Monday and we have heard NOTHING from the head coach or anyone in the league about who my DD8's coach will be. She could very well have practice on Monday, but as of right now, we have no way of knowing.

Not really sure what the plan will be for today...Maybe some straightening up of the house, maybe some SR. I don't know. I'm not in the best of moods right now and the lack of sleep does not help. :(

Hope to have some good news and to be in a much better mood later on....

Sounds like you have the same soccer coordinators that we do. Every season we are calling everyone at the last minute to figure out who the coach is and when practice is for my DS6 and DD11. This past season, DH and I literally were calling all parents that signed up at DS6's level, finally found which kids didn't have a coach then called around until we found someone to do the coaching (no parent would step up and DH can only help since he has to work during the games). This was all 2 nights before the first game. You would think that the coordinator wouldn't wait so long. Very frustrating and it sure doesn't make the weight loss plan easier to manage when you can't plan for where your kids need to be.

As for the weight. We can't always explain why the weight goes up when we think it shouldn't, but you really can't get too focused on that, it only leads you back to where you don't want to be. Instead you need to shrug it off a bit and keep moving forward which is where the long term results are. Also, remember, it is not just about lbs. it is also inches. After a few weeks of doing everything right, just ask yourself if the clothing is fitting better. That is sometimes the only indicator you have during times that the weight seems like it isn't coming off.

Another and very important thing when losing so much weight is to break it down into goals. Don't think of it as 40 lbs, 80lbs, 150 lbs, or whatever you desire to lose. Start small and go for only 5-10 lbs. Maybe you can set 10 lbs by the end of August as a "long term" goal then set 5 lbs as a mini goal that month. Treat yourself when you reach 5 lbs with a half hour to yourself just to get your nails done (even if it is just yourself doing it), or take the bubble bath you haven't taken in years, or get a new hair cut, just something. You are really good at coming up with ideas that are inexpensive for the kids to have fun. Now it's time to come up with inexpensive ideas to treat yourself and remind you how good if feels to take time for you. It all really plays in the pyche of weight loss.

Final tip: Don't forget to get rid of all the "too big" clothes the minute you don't fit into them well. Don't wear them too baggy or you won't notice a few lbs creeping back on. Besides better fitting clothes really shows the weight loss better and makes you feel better.

Just a few tips to help you along. Although I do know that you know all of these, sometimes we just need reminders.

Have a great weekend.

Those are great tips, Lesli! Thanks for sharing!:goodvibes

Well, we have the coach's name and phone number now. My DH was supposed to call on his way to deejay. I haven't talked to him so I'm not sure if he called or not.

The next few days are going to be stressful here. I don't think that there is any way around it. :( Trying to take some deep breaths and relax over the weekend to prepare for the week ahead...

I noticed something today...My DH gave me a few bucks and told me to take the kids to get Wendys. I did that and ended up eating a Jr Cheeseburger Deluxe and a small fry. I realized that by eating fast food, I triggered some enormous cravings for carbs. I came home and threw a Stouffer's mac and cheese in the over for dinner. When that wasn't cooking fast enough, I made a huge baked potato with cheese and ranch and started eating it and realized that if I ate the potato and the mac and cheese, I would be on major carb overload. I stopped eating the baked potato and put it in the dog's dish for her to eat. I ate less than half of it. (MAJOR victory there!:banana: ) I will have some mac and cheese when it cools down and hopefully, close the kitchen for the evening. I never realized how fast food triggered carb cravings before. :scratchin:

So how did our No Buy July go? Plain and simple? We blew it! :guilty: Over $800 of unexpected expenses during the month. Some were necessary and some were not. I'm going to share the number with my DH tomorrow and we'll come up with some type of plan for August. We need to save more and spend less.

Workouts are going well:
Day 1: Cardio (40 minutes)
Day 2: Weights (36 minutes)
Day 3: Cardio (40 minutes)
Day 4: Weights (25 minutes)
Day 5: Cardio (40 minutes)
Day 6: Weights (15 minutes)
Day 7: Cardio (35 minutes)
Day 8: Weights+ Cardio (40 minutes)
Day 9: Cardio (40 minutes)
Day 10: Weights+ Cardio (40 minutes)
Day 11: Cardio (20 minutes)
Day 12: nothing
Day 13: Cardio (40 minutes)
Day 14: Weights (40 minutes)
Day 15: Cardio (25 minutes)
Day 16: Weights (30 minutes)
Day 17: Cardio (60 minutes)

I haven't gotten a workout in yet, but I will after dinner.

That's about all from here...Hope everyone has a great evening!:grouphug:

Hi Tracy
Sorry I haven't been around for a couple of days. Hope you are having a good day today.
YAY! on the victory yesterday!:banana: Keep it up girl. Every victory, no matter how small is a step in the right direction. and you have been doing great with work outs.

Lesli had some great tips, I am going to use them myself. Thanks Lesli.

Sorry the No Buy July didn't work out for you. Didn't for me either. But at least you have a list and can figure out thing from there. You seem to be very good with money and savings. I bet you do way better in August.
Have a great day and here is a little pixiedust: for the next few days.

sending lots of spare :wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard: your way Tracy :)
my spending is off the scale at the moment i really need to be more focused & dedicated like you!!

Lots of stress over the weekend...Even had some work drama this morning, but it has worked itself out. :wizard: I feel like I need a weekend from my weekend!LOL!:lmao:

Today's Plan:

*SR
*Cleaning
*Girls have Vacation Bible School
*Fold and put laundry away

We have all but $130 of our car rental set aside for our September trip!:yay: My DH will be deejaying 2-3 more times before we leave so it should all be covered. I've changed plans a bit for December...I'll share those in the next day or so. Still working on a couple of details. ;)

Hope everyone has a great day!:grouphug:
