Toystoryduo's Journal....Moving Forward From Here

Oh my goodness, I am so sorry you may have another one. I am going to pray hard that was a mistake. I am so glad you went to the ER so you could get the meds to help with the UTI and pinched nerve. Just hang in there and don't overdo things.

I LOVE Red Lobster. And yay for some alone time with your dh, you guys deserved that!

Hope you are feeling better. We have been super warm, maybe we'll send some of that out to you. I'll do my best!

Thanks Lisa and Amy. :grouphug:

I appreciate your prayers for my mom. I don't know if her meds aren't working or if she's not taking them, but something is definitely "off" with her. Physically, she is doing much better though. She is eating and gaining weight. She's also stopped needing her walker which is a good thing as well. She does have an appointment with her doctor next week so maybe the doctor can shed some light on what's been going on.

The girls are off school today so I have some projects I am working on instead.

* Cleaning- I want to get the hope chest in our bedroom cleaned off. It's become a catch all for our stuff.

* Taxes- Need to get them organized and the information put in the system. We're still waiting on a 1099 from one of our contractors so I won't be completely done until that comes in.

* Taxes 2011- I want to get everything organized for next year's taxes. I say I'm going to do that every year because it would make life so much easier, but I haven't so far. This needs to be the year I get that done on a monthly basis though.

* Surveys_ Since February is a shorter month, my goal was to get to the $50 mark in earnings by the end of the month. I'm almost there! Once I hit the $50 mark, I may take a day or two off from surveys.

* Planning another Disney trip- I have been crunching some numbers and have found that we could do a second trip this year for around $1200. My DH and I are discussing it and praying about it. I'm not sure if we will book it or not, but it's fun to dream, right? ;)

I weighed in this morning and showed a 2.4 pound loss from last week. I haven't been very good about food this week, so I am really happy with that loss!:cheer2:

I hope everyone has a nice weekend!:wizard:

Hey Tracy
I am so glad that your mom is doing better, at least physically. That is a step in the right direction. Hopefully the doctor can help with the other. Will you be going to the visit with her? We will keep praying for her continued improvement.

Taxes..... :crazy2: :faint: I think we did better on ours this year. I hear ya on meaning to keep up with everything and then not doing it. I thought I had put the receipts from DD's summer camp last year and now we can't find the ones where I paid for after care. You have to pay cash for that :confused3 and get seperate receipts. I can't find them. :headache:

Yay for a second trip in the planning.:yay: I do hope you get to go, but can you tell me how you are doing it with such savings?

And with everything you have going on :woohoo: on the loss!

Hey Tracy, I am so glad your mom is doing better physically but that must be so hard to have her this way mentally. It was always such a challenge to know if my mom was taking her meds, so I know how that goes and how hard it is. I pray she begins to show improvement soon.

I also pray this second trip to WDW happens! Will this be in September for your usual free dining trip? I will really keep my fingers crossed. I want this for you!:goodvibes

Good job on the surveys. I pooped out on that big time. You have way more patience and dedication for those than I do!

Don't hate me, but dh gathers our stuff and takes it to a CPA. Its the one piece of our finances that I don't handle. I used to so I feel for you!

Thanks Lisa and Amy. :grouphug:

My poor DD10 has had a fever for the past 24 hours and is feeling very blah. :( Her fever goes down when we give her Tylenol, but she is just not feeling well. I canceled school for today and will cancel tomorrow if she's still not feeling well.

I think I am coming down with what she has. I have a sore throat and a cough and I feel rundown. I'm going to try and take it easy today. On my to do list: laundry, surveys, December Disney planning, and budget. I'll have to help my DH with some paperwork as well, but at least I can do that sitting down. ;)

I'm not sure about our potential September trip. My DH and I haven't had a chance to talk about it yet, but I'm thinking we may use the money towards December's trip or we may put it in savings instead. I'm not sure yet. We'll definitely be praying about it!

Well, that's about all from here. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!:wizard:

Tracy, I hope your DD is beginning to feel better and that you aren't sick. This has not been your winter. Spring is coming soon, maybe that will help some.

pixiedust: just a little extra for the September trip. Hmmm, when are you thinking of going in September? I want to take my friend Mary and was looking at the last week.

Tracy-I hope all is well with you and your family! Won't it be nice to open the windows and let the germs flow away when springtime arrives?

I hope you can work out the details for your September trip. We don't have any planned in the near future. Of course I want to be there when Scott and Benny take their first trip. That's what grandmas are for.

Make it a great week -enjoy!!!

Thanks Lisa and Denise!:grouphug:

We had a very busy weekend. We had work, a memorial to go to, a birthday party, and errands to run. We need a weekend from our weekend! LOL!

This morning, we were woken up quite early with a massive thunderstorm. :scared1: Since none of us got much sleep, I canceled school for the day and will have the girls "double up" on assignments tomorrow.

I cashed out for another $75 at SR today!:cool1: Plus, I got my payment from January in my Paypal account and my DH is buying a $25 and a $50 Disney gift card as I type. Woohoo!

Speaking of Disney, we have decided to shelf the September trip all together. We really need to focus on debt reduction and increasing our savings right now. We have two weeks to look forward to in December so it's all good!:thumbsup2

Well, that's about all from here. Hope everyone has a nice evening!

HI Tracy - hope your feeling better, glad you still have a wdw trip to look forward to (wish i had :( )

Hi Tracy
Hope the weather is getting better up your way. Sorry about canceling the Sept. trip. I completely understand though on getting the debt in order. Hope you all have had a great week. :goodvibes

Thanks Tracey and Lisa!:grouphug:

Today has been a very long day....

School took forever today and my girls were being crabby with each other throughout the day. UGH! :(

After school was over, my DD got the mail. Guess what I got? A $700+ bill for lab work. Why? Because the lab my doctor used is NOT on my insurance! Called the doctor's office and no one called me back. :(

After that, I spent an hour doing extra work for my DH.

Then, we worked on the budget. BIG mistake when you're not in a good mood. :( Thankfully, my DH is a very funny guy and we were laughing by the end of the meeting.

Today's not a total loss though. :goodvibes

I did get 7 surveys at SR which is GREAT because I am trying to make Super Member Plus again.

I did get some great deals on laundry detergent, fabric softener, paper towels, and groceries today. I haven't been doing any deals lately so it was nice to get back on track with saving some extra money.

I am so glad that tomorrow is a new day. :goodvibes

ouch thats a hefty bill, shouldnt they have told you you wernt covered???
very impressed that you & dh can have a laugh when budgeting, i need to tell my dh ;)

I got a call from the doctor's office yesterday. They will credit my account for the lab test that was messed up, but they implied that I was on my own for the other tests. I don't understand. They know what insurance I have. Why would they have the urine sent to a lab not on my insurance? :confused3 That $700+ is for just 2 out of the 3 tests. That means that there is another $300+ bill coming my way. UGH. :( I'm going to call and speak to a supervisor on Monday.

Not much going on today. It's gloomy and raining outside. DH is working. I hope he gets home soon so that we can get out of the house and go to the mall or something. Cabin fever has set in BIG time! :(

We're paying off one of our debts on Monday. Very excited about that! After we pay the bill on Monday, I think we will put debt reduction on the back burner for awhile. We need to get some extra money in savings first.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

So let me get this straight! Your doctor who is on your insurance and therefore knows what you have sent the lab work to a lab that is not on your insurance? They made the mistake! If they won't correct it, tell them you will be calling the Ohio Insurance Commissioner and the state medical board. That is simply unacceptable. It is THEIR job to send samples to the labs that take patient's insurance, I mean how are you supposed to know? They have a job, they need to do it right. $1000 is not pocket change. Just maddening.

I am so sorry you have been feeling not well and so sorry that although we have emailed, I haven't been on your journal!

I still say you might the right choice for September even though I know it stinks. And who knows, something may just fall into place financially and with a discount that might still make it possible. In the meantime, you are doing what you think is right which is always a good thing!:goodvibes

Oooohhhh, that just makes me so mad when doctor's offices or hospitals do that. We are at their mercy and sometimes I think they just don't care. Hospitals I have found are the worse. or maybe it is the billing services that some ER doctors use. Can't decide. I do hope you can talk to someone on Monday who can help you. It just isn't right. :sad2:

Sorry you had such a bad day. I'm with Tracey, that you all can end up laughing while working on the budget. You have a gem of a DH there. :goodvibes

Congrats on working towards Super Member Plus. You'll get there.:thumbsup2 I have complete faith in you.

Did you get the P&G deal at CVS this week? I have enough Tide to last a while now. :rotfl: Target had some really good deals this week also.

I so admire you at how diligent you are with your budget. I wish we could sit down and talk. I've got the balancing the bills between paychecks, but it's the finer points I seem to miss.

Hey Wish Sis, just stopping by to say hi.

And thanks for being such a great friend! Great things are in store for you, I feel it!

:goodvibes

Hi Amy, I hope all is well with you and the family.

I feel your frustration with the medical bills. Its so annoying to have to fight for what's right when it was all caused by someone else's error. I hope you got some results from the supervisor!

Have a good day and check in soon!

Hi Tracy and Happy Wednesday. I hope you have had some luck with the doctor's office. pixiedust:

Thanks ladies!:grouphug:

We could use a truckload of prayers and pixie dust right now. Our furnace isn't working at the moment, our car is acting up, the birds are chirping, but we have ANOTHER winter storm on the way, and I have to go to the GYN today. UGH. Sounds like a fun day, right? :( I really wish I had the money to just book a last minute trip to Florida, even if it was just for a few days. We so need a break for all of this "stuff"! :(

Today's Plan:
* School (individual work for the girls; no teaching for me today)
* Surveys
* GYN (yearly exam + discuss side pain; ovary issue maybe?)
* Laundry
* Pay bill off today! :cool1:

It's a good thing I am on a majorly restricted diet this week or I would be eating everything in sight! LOL!:rotfl:

Hope everyone has a great day today!:wizard:
