Toystoryduo’s Journal: Baby Steps are the Key... Celebrate Each Victory!

Hey Tracy--glad to hear you are feeling better!! Even though you didn't get to the zoo yesterday, looks like you had a nice day!

Hi Tracy
Glad you had a lovely weekend :)
& your feeling better :)
Hope your week continues to get better & better :)

Good morning WISH sisters,

Here is an update on my monthly goals:

1. I want to lose 20-25 pounds before we leave for WDW in September. I'm at 218 right now and it's not a good place to be. Having been sick and not really exercising the past few weeks has really stopped my progress. I need to get serious about this before I am back up to the weight I started at.

2. I want to build up our savings account. We didn't add any money to the savings account this month. Once my DH gets his next two paychecks, we will add more money.

3. I want to pay off as much debt as possible. Not much progress here. We are in the process of paying card # 3. Probably won't be paid off until this summer.

4. I want to become a better cook. I want to cook healthy, balanced meals for my family. This one went totally out the window this month. Could that be linked to my weight gain?

5. I want to organize my time better. Didn't do so well here either. I think the busyness of the month caused things to get away from me. I certainly need to get back on track with this stuff.

Rewards Programs:
CD: $115 check
SR: $50 Red Lobster Gift Card, $10 Wendy's Gift Card
DS: $25 Disney Shopping Onlicne Gift Card
CM: $10 Olive Garden Gift Card, $5 Auntie Annie's Gift Card
Pinecone: $5 survey check
Change Jar: $85

I did pretty well with rewards programs this month, but didn't do so well with my goals. I really need to re-focus.

Today's Plan:

* Laundry

* Homeschool

* Library

* Workout (walking? I am super sore from yesterday's workout!)

* Garage sale ad

I am really struck by how poorly I did with my goals this month. I knew that this was going to be a very busy month and I knew that it would fly by pretty quickly. I should have planned accordingly and didn't.:sad2: Hopefully, I can get my act together in June.

That's about all from here... Hope everyone has a great day!

Great goals Tracy :)
Dont worry about Mays goals, you were ill & that always throws everything off balance!!

I agree, June is tomorrow with a whole month to make new goals! The good thing about May, is that you kept track, got in touch with what happened and why some of those goals didn't get as reached as you would like. Remember, we are learning! That is so great you get those rewards, they really add up. I still think you can lose 20 pounds by your trip or get very close. Just hang in there and stay well, cause that always helps!;)

You may not have met your goals for May, but you tried. And you didn’t give up. That’s what is really important. That you keep going forward after a set back. Tomorrow is the first day of a fresh new month. Good luck :goodvibes with meeting your new goals. I know you can do it. :thumbsup2

Jennifer :flower3:

I love your goal setting. Just keep in mind thats all they are meant to be. Goals are usually set in a mindset of a perfect world. Life gets in the way and goals don't always get met. We do the best we can. That being said I think it's still important to set our goals. My goal this week is to finish my garden for the wedding reception coming up on June 15. Need time for those plants to get over the shock. The next week after is square making. Then a cleaning blitz. And praying it won't rain!!!!

Thanks everyone.:grouphug:

The last 24 hours have been hard. Things are out of whack at home due to my DH's schedule and the whirlwind of the month that was May. I am getting increasingly frustrated about my weight loss issues. I mean, I've been on this journey for over 3 years and I am in the same darn place I was in 3+ years ago. :x This frustrates me, makes me mad and makes me sad at the same time. I don't know what to do. My first thought is to give up and walk away. The problem with that is that I know this is an issue that will be with me for the rest of my life. I am not happy where I am at, but I don't think I have it in me to change anything.:confused3

Not sure where I am going from here.... I'm gonna take some time over the weekend to pray about this.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. :grouphug: I'll try and get to journals soon.

:hug: Hi Tracy
Hope you have a good weekend & you get to sort 'stuff' out. :hug:
Just remember we can all relate to how your feeling, why it has to be soo hard - i dont know, but its frustrating,
remember to take it one day at a time,
& we're here to help you get through it :hug:

Hey Tracy....sounds like you're a little down.
Don't worry, keep working at the weight loss and it will come off. I know it's hard, but you can do it! We're behind you all the way!
Hope May is better for you health wise...hang in there!!

Someone once said to me "There is no change if there is no change". It stuck with me. I'm guessing though that you have made changes to better your life over the last 3 years. So I can understand your frustration. I'm also guessing you would not be in as good a health state if you wern't doing the good stuff you do. I like to try to change only one thing at a time. That way I can see if its helping. My latest change was adding B vitamins which after a couple of months has helped me with energy.

Way to go CAVS!!!:cheer2:

Cleveland finally has something to cheer about!:cheer2: :thumbsup2 :cool1: :yay: :banana: :dance3:

Good morning friends,

Yesterday was a good day depsite the fact that I was not (stll not) feeling well. Tummy troubles and a massive headache to boot.:headache: We went to a community that had 140 garage sales and decided not to shop. The houses were spread out throughout the entire community and not just in a sub division so we would have spent a lot of time getting in and out of the car. We decided to go to a different community and go to just a few garage sales and we got:

* A bathing suit for DD6

* A jacket for DD4

* A Goofy Movie on VHS

* A New Kids on the Block CD (Just for fun.... They used to be my fave group in middle school and one of the only concerts I have been to.:dance3: )

* A wedding gift for a friend (Brand new!)

* Tons of free toys and little gifts

Total Spent: $8.00

After the garage sales, we came home, went to the pool, went swimming for 2.5 hours, got sunburned, and then came home and I slept for about 2 hours. We then went out to Target and bought the FIRM series 4 set with the Transfirmer. Starting Monday, I am going to try and follow the workout rotation and food plan and see if I can jumpstart my weight loss. :goodvibes

Not planning on doing much today.... Still not feeling well. :(

Hope everyone has a great Sunday! GO CAVS!:cheer2:

Tracy!!! Sending you some get well PD :wizard: . I'm really sorry you are still not feeling well :(. Believe me...I know how tough it can be to get better after a bout of sickness. Took me so long to get back to normal after the stomach bug that got me recently :sick: . I really hope you feel back to 100% tomorrow so you can get started on your new exercise plan!!! :goodvibes

Wow...$8 for ALL THAT STUFF! Goodness...what treasure you found :). Good job with that! A very successful day of garage sale hunting for sure!!!

Again...good luck with The Firm workouts. I have an ab one from them and I still swear it's one of the best ab workouts I've had. I think it's great that you are giving it a try :).

Have a great week!!! And take care of yourself :hug: .

Great job on the G-sales!! Sounds like you had fun!!

Hope you're feeling better!!! :wizard:

Keep up the good work!

I'm a long time WISH lurker, just had a question - can someone explain these rewards programs to me?

Thanks!

Rewards Programs:
CD: $115 check
SR: $50 Red Lobster Gift Card, $10 Wendy's Gift Card
DS: $25 Disney Shopping Onlicne Gift Card
CM: $10 Olive Garden Gift Card, $5 Auntie Annie's Gift Card
Pinecone: $5 survey check
Change Jar: $85

Thanks Amy, Marie, and Splash!:hug:

Not much going on here.... I did try the FIRM BSS 4 system for the first time yesterday and it is a great workout! I am pretty sore today so I am glad that it is a rest day. ;)

Today's Plan:

* Laundry, Homeschool, and ?????

Goals for June:

* Eat a salad a day

* Eat breakfast with some protein

* Drink water

* Try not to eat late at night

I've decided to follow the FIRM BBS4's workout rotation schedule. That means this week I will be working out 3 days, next week I will be working out 3 days, and the following week, I will be working out 4 days. These workouts are pretty intense so I will probably need the extra rest days for the next few weeks. I will probably throw a few walks in there for good measure.

I've also decided not to weigh myself this month. I weighed myself on June 1st (218) and will not weigh myself again until June 30th.

That's about all from here! Hope everyone has a great day!:hug:

HI Tracy,

Way to go on the garage sales. That is great that you founda NKOB CD!!! I so used to love them. Sirius radio plays their songs from time to time and I love it! That is really the only concert I too have been to!!

You are doing a great job, your goals look great!

Keep up the good work!

Have a great day :)

I was reading your goals and applauding the "not weighing yourself for a month" and I thought to myself ..."Could I do that?" And was amazed at the mind struggle that happened. Part of me said "Sure" and the other part was already planning on how to sneak in and weigh myself. I now realize how big a thing it is not to weigh in. I still haven't reached an agreement whether I could do it yet. I'm thinking I should challenge myself but just thinking it makes me a little anxious. Interesting.

Have a great day!

Tracy, I am so glad you bought some new workout dvd's that will really help to boost your mood and motivation. And good for you, you actually did them (I have been to known to purchase stuff like that and never one time actually do them!). Good job not weighing, sometimes the scale really only serves to make us obsess with the number. You can do this, you will not give up, you haven't yet and you won't! Great finds at the garage sale, gotta love it when that happens! Hang in there WISH Sis, things are going to happen I just know it :hug:
