Hi y'all

I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere, but I searched and didn't find anything (here on the forum and on the web-at-large...even called my local store and never got a pick-up...)

On a regular, everyday item, not black friday, not doorbuster... does Toys R Us (in the continental US) price match? Or not? I can't seem to find a straight answer.

The website doesn't seem to have anything (although in Canada, you're golden...)

I found a blog from last Friday that said they WOULD, but no link to any official policy... I am looking at a couple of things that are listed in the target big toy book, but if TRU will price match them and honor their own (TRU) coupon ($10 GC w/$75 purchase), then it's worth it... otherwise, Sears has a "their price plus 10% policy" that will work for at least one of the items I'm looking at.

All three stores are within 2 miles of each other... so... do they, or don't they? :confused3

None of the Toysrus here in the midwest will price match on anything! I even had a stock person tell me they did. I waited for 20 minutes in the checkout line and had to put everything back because they do not match and would not budge! It was beyond crazy! Because of that I try to shop as little as possible there.

Ok, just finally got through to my local (annapolis, MD) store and spoke with a lady so-darn-chipper-she-must-have-worked-at-disney-store-before-they-closed...

And, at my local store, she said they WILL price match on my items from the printed Target toy book, and to just bring the ad in.

So, standby for further adventures...

- Will they really match the price?
- will they give my the $10 gc if I go over $75?
- will they really do the 10% back in TRU rewards?

These, and other, exciting questions may (or may not) ever be answered... :rotfl:

Last year TRU in York PA would not price match to any other store.
If you bought it at TRU and then it was on sale, they would give you the sale price.

long story short (only because the longer ranting post went "poof") :lmao: Do NOT bother with Toys R US price matching for the time being. Only buy their sale items, for anything else, take your business elsewhere.

The reason I wanted them to price match (a whopping $5) was that if they did, it would be a good deal... they had a coupon for "buy $75/get a $10 gc" plus they are doing a 10% back deal, too.

Long story short, a woman who worked there first tried to tell me they didn't price match toys, then when I informed her the day manager had told me 4 hours earlier that they DID, she did it with a snarky comment about me already getting something else on BOGO, so she was "already giving (me) something" (under her breath)... Then the coupon wouldn't work (I spent $110) because of the price match... she would not budge. I asked for a manager, she said she was it (her name tag did NOT say manager on it.)

So in the end, I took the gift card, informed her I would be trying to work this out with corporate, and she sneered. Honestly.

The customer service rep took the file and said 3-5 business days. This is not about $5. This is about customer service. If I'm going to be treated like poo, I might as well just go to Walmart :rotfl:

So stand by for our next episode... Will Corporate do a "guest recovery" and refund my $5? Or will I take the TRU ad to Walmart on black Friday for the other $300 in toys I'm planning to buy? tune in in 3-5 business days...

I would email TRU corporate and tell them everything that you've been told, what the manager said to you and her snarky comments. Everything that upset you or caused you frustration/inconvenience I would relay to them. Email is contactus@toysrus.com is the customer service email.

I have had nothing but trouble in the past month with their coupons, gift card promotions and store pickup. This past Friday I had the worst customer service experience of my life with a complete and total jerk TRU supervisor. That was the last straw and I emailed corporate telling them all the problems I've been having and the way I was treated by an employee on Friday. I haven't heard back yet, I emailed them over the weekend.

If more people are having problems with them and their customer service, then the corporate offices need to know. I'm now at the point where I'll gladly spend more at Target or Walmart if it means I don't have to deal with the mess of TRU.

Might want to make sure that Walmart will definitely match the TRU ad before you miss out on the deals.
