I didn't see any of the Lego Friends on sale, but then again my store only had 2 copies of the Karate class one left so they may not have bothered to put up any signs for them if they were included.
TRU's prices are pretty inflated so its not truly 50% off, but it's still a slight discount from Target/Walmart or the Lego Store.
