Toys in WL Pool?

Can we use our beach ball in the pool at WL or do they have "no toys" rule?

this past Oct DS had a "water bomb" ball - the lifeguard never told us not to use it
will return w/one this Aug

We always bring "beach" toys to the WL pool and have never had a problem.
