Toyota Camry and Honda Accord

<font color=navy>We're Toyota fans here -- my mom worked for them for 20 years, until she passed away in '95.

I had an SR-5, now own a Rav-4, and will be getting a Camry in November.

From the other posts sounds like Honda's are good, too - so it's up to your personal preference.

I received my '92 accord from my uncle when he bought a new one in '99. I now have over 280,000 miles on it (yes almost 300000) and neither one of us have ever had any problems with it. Obviously, the belts have had to be changed a few times, and I needed a new radiator, but considering the mileage on the car, it's great, still starts right up. My entire family nows owns hondas (my mom has a CRV and my dad just bought a civic) and I know when my car finally goes to car heaven, I'll be getting another accord as well.

I've had both and prefer the Camry (just a little bit more). I think it is more comfortable and you sit a little bit higher. Also, my two Camry's have been a tad bit more reliable than the Accord I had.

We are driving our second Accord. It's a '99 with 115,000 miles on it. No problems yet. We'll look for another Accord when we wear this one out.

Have a 2000 Accord SE. Great Car.
No problems, but then again, I still have just over 50k miles on it. Its still in its infancy for Honda. All I have had to do is a brake job. Its simple. 26 mpg too...

Cant really go wrong with either. It all comes down to styling for me. I do not like the new shape of the accord. I liked the 1999-2000-2001-2002-2003 body style better.

Im looking at a new car soon. Will probably go with a Mustang GT convertible or a Acura RSX-S.

Good luck in your choice...

I just bought a new Camry last month and LOVE IT!
I have always had Toyota's and always had very good experiences w/ quality.

I LOVE Honda's. I've had two accords, a CRV and now have an Odyssey. Honda stands behind their products.

Although I haven't owned one, I know Toyota's are great cars too. IMO, You can't go wrong with either one.

I have had 2 Honda Accords and never had any problems with either one of them. I am a HUGE Honda fan. I am still driving the 2nd one- a 2001 Honda Accord V6. :)

We've had five Camrys and just bought an Avalon. They never die. We just sold Camry #4, 1997 with 102,000 miles (barely broken in). Ours have never let us down. Our old 1991 Camry, sold in 1997 with >110,000 on it at the time, is still running and we see it around town from time to time.

You won't make a mistake regardless of which car you choose.

I bought a new Camry in June 2003 and love it! After 3 GM's, I can tell that it is a much better made car. I always swore I would not buy foreign but after the problems I had with my Grand Am, I went for it. I keep telling myself it was made in Kentucky. I rented one from National in May 2003 and that was the deciding factor, a week long test drive!

Regarding the dealer, I couldn't believe that they never called to check up on it! Usually they drive you nuts, calling you every month (and of course ask for any referrals). I did get a one year anniversary letter from my salesman. After I took it in for inspection in May, I did start getting coupons in the mail.

You could not go wrong with either car, but as a company man I have to give the nod to the Camry.

I have a 2001 Camry we bought used in June 2002. I really like this car. It still has under 40,000 miles on it, but I don't anticipate any problems. After all, it is a Toyota. Heck, it isn't even broken in yet!

The Camry is a smooth riding and comfortable car. I picked a Camry over the Accord because I owned two Corollas previously and felt they were quality cars. The only other car I would have considered was an Accord. I want to drive my cars until the wheels fall off!

You will be safe with either car. Toyota and Honda have some of the best brand loyal customers around. They both are excellent products.

We have had only Hondas since '82, specifically four of which were Accords. Presently we own three Accord EXs... a '95 for DD when she gets her license, an '01 that's mine, and an '04 that DH uses for work. It is sooo nice with leather and all the perks. Also, this model does not need to have a timing belt replacement done at about 90,000 miles as in the past which was a major maintenence expense. BTW, the '95 has 140K miles and hasn't had anything but routine upkeep done on it.

Good luck!!

Both are good cars. DH had a Camry for a little while, then traded it in out of boredom for a Toyota Highlander! LOL

We've had an Accord and a Camry. Loved both of them. I have to say I probably like the Camry a little better, but it may not be a fair comparison. We bought our Accord was probably 18 years ago and drove it forever and the Camry is the car I'm driving now.

We never had any problems with either of them.

My sister owns a 1988 Toyota Camry which she bought brand new. She has 140,000 miles on it. She has never brought it in for warranty work of any kind. Her second choice back in 1988 was a Honda Accord. She plans on buying another Camry with her Christmas bonus this year.

I'm on my third American made car. I needed a minivan and can't afford my choice of either a Honda Odyessey or Toyota Sienna so I drive a 2003 Town & Country (needed for the two Standard Poodles).

I don't think you can go wrong with either Toyota Camry or Honda Accord.

I had a 2002 Camry as my company car and had to turn it in last November. I really miss my Camry and would love to have another one. Now I have a Taurus, and its just not the same.
